Disney seems to be aiming to open Connections Café and Eatery sooner rather than later as work is moving quickly on the new EPCOT restaurant.

Across from Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, scaffolding has been removed from the exterior of Connections Café, though some tarps remain over windows.

Several construction vehicles sit outside the entrance, which is also blocked with a black tarp. Columns between the windows have been rebuilt, but not yet repainted.

The front of the building, including Creations Shop, shows the off-white color that the entire building will eventually be. From the Monorail, we can also see some scaffolding on the end of the building, to the left in the photo above.

On the ground, we checked out the recently installed steel on the roof near the scaffolding.

Nothing seems different about the steel tower since it was installed.

We expect it will eventually be surrounded by paneling.

From the breezeway next to Creations Shop, we have been able to see lights on inside for a while now.

New strips of blue light were visible today.

The blue light strips were at a 90-degree angle along the wall and ceiling.

Orange lights line the ceiling beams.

Through the next set of windows, we saw more lights on.

The column next to these windows has been rebuilt, but it and a section of ceiling need to be repainted, as does part of the round column.

Between the lights inside, we could see wood paneling on the ceiling.

We also saw some pink lights shining from around some of the skylight tubes.

Construction walls leading into the breezeway have been shifted.

They now surround the first column next to Creations Shop, but the walls open up to more space further into the breezeway.

This may mean work is being done on the ground between the restaurant and shop.

Back on the ground near Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, we could see more blue lights and teal lights inside.

There are sliding glass doors just beyond these construction walls.

It’s possible Connections Café and Eatery will open around the same time as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
