food-and-wine-guide-featured-image-hero-epcot-07152021

The 2022 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival returns this year on July 14. It will run through November 19 with many festival favorites returning.

More than 25 Global Marketplaces will be located throughout EPCOT. Returning favorites include The Swanky Saucy Swine, Appleseed Orchard, Hops & Barley, Earth Eats hosted by Impossible, and Shimmering Sips hosted by CORKCICLE. Some Global Marketplaces will open a few weeks later, as well, to keep the 129-day event spicy.

People enjoying the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival

The Eat to the Beat Concert Series presented by Florida Blue Medicare returns this year with internationally recognized artists as well as local bands offering fun tunes on the America Gardens Theatre stage.

But that’s not all! Beyond the sips and bites, a full menu of fun offers more ways for everyone in the family to enjoy the festival:

  • Embark on a Ratatouille-inspired adventure that’s très magnifique with Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak. Kids of all ages can search for Remy on a savory scavenger hunt around EPCOT – simply purchase your map and stickers from select festival merchandise locations.
  • Try delicious cheeses served in fun ways as part of Emile’s Fromage Montage – collect stamps in the festival passport after eligible purchases at select Global Marketplaces.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is set to open some time this summer in Disney World’s EPCOT, and Disney keeps releasing more and more sneak peeks of the ride!

Check out that ship!

We’ve seen parts of the track, the loading area, and the ride vehicles. There is also the GIANT spaceship outside of the ride entrance now that’s a pretty cool sight to see while walking around the park. And now, we have another look inside the upcoming ride — and it looks awesome!

Disney released a look INSIDE part of the queue for the ride! Doesn’t this look incredible?!

It’s called the Galaxarium and it’s an observatory of the entire galaxy where you can see things like Earth and the planet Xandar. Disney also put out a video showing this part of the queue which you can check out below!

Booth Seating and Florida Project Flooring Visible Inside Connections Café and Eatery at EPCOT

Though an exact opening date for Connections Café and Eatery at EPCOT has not been announced, the restaurant does seem to be approaching completion as flooring, lights, and a mural are installed.

This morning, we could see benches through the restaurant windows from the Monorail.

Tables and non-bench chairs have not been moved in yet.

There is a black and red archway around this door, which is on the World Discovery side of the building, but not yet a marquee sign.

At night, we could see benches and partition walls lit up. We also got another good view of the mural on the right, which features trees and people.

In these photos, we can also see the square of flooring inspired by Walt Disney’s original “Florida Project” maps. The square is a lighter color than the rest of the floor with a darker grey outlining it.

Scissor lifts were parked inside and outside the restaurant for construction.

We took another look inside from the ground at night.

The ceiling and/or lights are still not quite finished. Loose wires hang from above.

We could also see red and black units hanging from some of the tube “skylights” in the ceiling.

According to Walt Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley, the mural’s subject is “the relationship of place, people, and food from across the world — celebrating the bountiful variety of ingredients and traditions that connect culture and food to the beautiful, diverse places that we call home.”

On the other side of the building, we could see more of the restaurant’s colorful lighting.

Walls with unique texture are illuminated in shades of red, blue, and green.

The ceilings have crosspieces of wood.

Guests now walk past a Connections Café entrance and sign, though half of the windows are blocked with black tarps.

We could still see these illuminated structures on either side of the entrance.

They seem to have glass tubes running down them.

One is red-orange while the other is blue-green.

A crew member was cleaning windows above the Connections Café sign in the breezeway.

Most of the windows here are also blocked by tarps, and the area immediately in front of the entrance is blocked by planters and construction walls.

Past the planters, we could see construction materials.

The World’s Most Magical Celebration in honor of the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World began on October 1, 2021, but new ways to commemorate the occasion keep coming to the parks. Today we discovered the debut of new commemorative Coke bottles. There are five designs in total — one with the 50th anniversary logo and one for each Walt Disney World theme park.

The bottles are the same price as the regular bottled sodas.

50th Anniversary Logo

The Walt Disney World 50th anniversary logo is on the neck of the bottle, with the Cinderella Castle version below the Coca-Cola logo.

It reads, “Together since 1971” in honor of the Disney and Coca-Cola partnership.

The bottom of the bottle is EARidescent gold, green, blue, purple, and pink.

Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom bottle features Cinderella Castle.

The generic 50th logo is on the bottom against a background of EARidescent pink.

EPCOT

Of course, Spaceship Earth takes front and center on the EPCOT bottle.

The bottom of the bottle is a shimmering blue.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is represented by the Tree of Life.

This bottle is green and yellow.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Last but not least, the Disney’s Hollywood Studios bottle features the Hollywood Tower Hotel.

It is appropriately decorated in sparkling gold.
