A glitching ride, a brand-new luxury merchandise collection, and the return of a fan-favorite snack that’s been missing for MONTHS? Y’all have got to see these MAJOR Magic Kingdom updates.
We’re in the parks every day, but we still find new things each and every time we visit. So come along with us to Magic Kingdom to find out what’s NEW in this park since the last time we stopped by!
You know where our priorities are — we’re starting out with the most important update of all: What’s new with the FOOD?
Magic Kingdom Food Updates
Sunshine Tree Terrace
We were starting to lose hope that we’d ever see our beloved Citrus Swirl again after it was removed from the menu at Sunshine Tree Terrace back in 2021. But on a recent trip to Adventureland, we saw that this snack has finally returned!
It’s not listed on the physical menu, but you can ask for it at the counter, or find it on Mobile Order. The classic treat is a combination of Frozen Orange Juice and Vanilla Soft-serve for $4.99. It’s been a favorite of ours for a long time, and we highly recommend giving it a try next time you visit!
Learn more about this treat’s return here!
The Friar’s Nook
On our way to find another treat, this time in Fantasyland, we saw that the Mr. Toad Dome Cake was missing from the Mobile Order menu at The Friar’s Nook. This yummy treat came to Disney World for the 50th Anniversary as a celebration of the Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride attraction, which has since been replaced by The Many Adventure of Winnie the Pooh.
We enjoyed this treat when it came out last October, so we were sad to see it disappear. But there was a twist in this story — it’s actually still listed on the physical menu, and you can still order it!
According to a Cast Member, they just removed it from Mobile Order in order to promote the “it’s a small world” cupcake, which honors Disney legend Mary Blair for Women’s History Month.
Note that you can see the Mr. Toad Dome Cake on the Mobile Order menu, but it hasn’t been popping up when we actually go to order food. But you can just head up to the window if you’re hoping to grab this nostalgic treat.

Magic Kingdom Construction Updates
TRON: Lightcycle Power Run Update
Construction on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Power Run roller coaster is coming along pretty well! We’ve seen testing for some of the ride vehicles already, which is a good sign that the ride is getting closer to completion.
We’re also curious about a tunnel taking shape on the ground, beneath some of the ride structures. This is presumably for the Walt Disney World Railroad to pass through on its loop around Magic Kingdom.
We’re hoping that means the Railroad will reopen soon, but it’s likely that it will remain closed until TRON construction is finished.
We’ll keep an eye on the construction progress and let you know about any more updates to this coaster!
Storybook Circus Closing Early
We spotted a sign over at Storybook Circus that said this section of the park was closing early, at 9PM instead of 11PM.
That means a couple of rides (like the Barnstormer and Dumbo), as well as the Big Top Souvenirs gift shop, would not be available after that time. We’ve seen this happen a couple of times recently, so be sure to look out for it on your next trip to make sure you don’t miss anything you were hoping to do in Storybook Circus.
New Decor in the Main Street Confectionery
At the Main Street Confectionery, there was a new shelf filled with colorful bottles!
The shelf is just for decoration, and it made some gorgeous light patterns on the ceiling.
The Confectionery got a major refurbishment last year, and we’re still discovering all kinds of new details in this beautiful space.
PeopleMover Glitches
While we were on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, we noticed that it was experiencing a few issues.
At one point, while we were in a dark section of the ride, it stopped altogether and the lights came on.
Just a few minutes later, the lights went off again and the PeopleMover started to move again. If this happens to you during your trip, just remain seated and wait for the ride to keep going or for Cast Members to give you further instructions. While we have seen rides get evacuated (including this one), it doesn’t happen super often.

Magic Kingdom Merchandise Updates
Emporium
On Main Street, U.S.A., you’ll find the Emporium, which is Magic Kingdom’s biggest gift shop! On a recent visit, we saw that this location actually has a lot of Orange Bird merchandise, which can usually be found over in EPCOT for the Flower & Garden Festival.
But there’s a display in Magic Kingdom now with some items, like a tumbler, t-shirts, a Spirit Jersey, shorts, and more! So if you missed your chance to grab these items while you were in EPCOT, never fear! Check out this store to see if they have what you’re looking for.
We also saw some new Mickey-shaped donut jewelry in this gift shop, which warmed our snack-loving hearts.
And you can get an Original Mickey Denim Jacket as well, which features the Big Cheese himself.
The jacket is $80.
We saw a Be Happy bag at Disney Springs earlier, but now it’s available in the Emporium as well!
And if you can’t decide what to get during your visit, you can always settle on a gift card to come back and shop later. We saw some new designs on these cards, including some for Mickey Mouse…
…Minnie Mouse…
…Donald Duck…
…and Goofy!
Disney Princess fans will love the Princess Gift Card…
…and the ones featuring Ariel from The Little Mermaid…
…Moana…
…Cinderella…
…Tiana from The Princess and the Frog…
…Aurora from Sleeping Beauty…
…Jasmine from Aladdin…
…Anna and Elsa from Frozen…
…and Snow White. Whew! That’s a lot of new gift cards!
Some of these new gift card designs were also available at the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square.
Bonjour Village Gifts
At Bonjour Village Gifts, we saw a couple of artistic souvenirs that you can grab to commemorate your Disney vacation. There’s a print of the Beauty and the Beast Castle Painting by Rosemary Begley available for $30…
…or a print of “Forever Princess” by Darren Wilson for $39.99.
And for the Donald Duck fans out there, we found a Donald Totem Figurine, which celebrates both the character and the iconic Enchanted Tiki Room attraction.
This figurine costs $85.
Star Traders
We hopped over to Tomorrowland to check out some new items at Star Traders. They had a Mickey Windbreaker for $59.99…
…and a Mickey Tank Top for $36.99.
There were also a couple of new pins, including a “Where to Next?” Mickey pin with a spinning hand on it. This one is available for $12.99.
And we spotted a Disney Characters Kite Mystery Pin Set available as well!
It features kites designed to look like Disney characters, like Stitch and Mickey Mouse!
Frontier Trading
If you’re on the lookout for even MORE new Disney pins, we found the Mickey Mouse Main Attraction pins over at Frontier Trading. The current attraction being featured in this collection is Space Mountain.
You can get this cool Space Mountain-themed Astronaut Mickey pin for $29.99.
Uptown Jewelers
At Uptown Jewelers, on Main Street, U.S.A., you’ll find a lot of fancy (and usually pretty expensive) merchandise. We spotted the new Vera Bradley Little Mermaid collection here, including the Throw Blanket, which features characters from the movie. Be sure to check out the Vera Bradley store in Disney Springs to see all the new items!
And there’s an entire NEW collection of Disney x Coach merchandise, which came out to celebrate Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
There are 4 new pairs of Mickey Ears, each representing a different Disney park.
The ears cost $295 each, and you can pre-order some of them online now!
Click here to check out the NEW Mickey Ears!
We also spotted several different purses, like this embroidered Mickey & Friends Crossbody Bag for $295…
…a matching Duffle Bag for $595…
…and a Belt Bag for $450. These are just a few of the many options in the new collection!
Although Coach is known for their purses, there are also some clothing and accessories in this collection too, like this Mickey Hoodie for $295…
…and Mickey Sliders for $110.
We saw these items (and a whole lot more in this collection) at Creations Shop in EPCOT, Legends of Hollywood in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Discovery Trading in Disney’s Animal Kingdom as well. And many of the items are available online for pre-order now!
Click here to check out the FULL Disney x Coach collection.
