All of Grand Floridian Resort to Receive New Rooms Matching Disney Vacation Club Wing, DVC Rooms Won’t Be Different from Standard

The new DVC studios currently under refurbishment at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa have been heavily marketed and many members assumed that, like with other Walt Disney World Resorts, the style of these rooms would be unique to the timeshare. But sources close to WDWNT have revealed that after completion of the current project, refurbishments will begin on the standard hotel rooms across the other buildings in the same design.

We recently got a chance to tour one of the new studios.

As you can see from the photos, the new style offers a more modern take on the classic Victorian designs.

For comparison, see a photo of a current standard Grand Floridian room below and more from our room tour here.

The refurbishments will likely happen in stages as to not close most of the resort’s capacity.

The changes also mean that the number of owners for the DVC at Disney’s Grand Floridian will grow but the volume of traditional style Villas will remain the same, making a more competitive booking pool.

What do you think about the changes coming to the Grand Floridian?

Your Inner 8-Year-Old Needs You to Eat Disneyland’s New Funnel Cake

Disneyland has some absolutely iconic desserts!

Mickey Beignets

From Dole Whip to churros to Mickey beignets, there is no shortage of photogenic and delicious sweet treats. And, we just tried out another fun dessert that will make you feel like a kid again!

Check out the Cookies & Cream Funnel Cake from Disneyland Park!

A lot going on here!

This is a Chocolate Funnel Cake topped with Cookies & Cream Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, and Chocolate Sandwich Cookie Crumble. There are also some Teddy Grahams stuck on top, which is pretty fitting since this is coming from Hungry Bear Restaurant!

We scream for ice cream

Our favorite part about this dessert was definitely the cookies & cream ice cream! The funnel cake didn’t really have that much of a chocolate flavor, so the ice cream really made up for that since it did taste more like chocolate.

Do you see the hidden Mickey?

We also got a really big scoop of ice cream, which we would normally never complain about, but it did make the funnel cake get a little soggy. That just means ya gotta eat it faster!

Eat it fast!

The chocolate sandwich cookie crumbles and Teddy Grahams added a nice crunch to the overall dessert, which was a great contrast in texture! Also, how can we NOT like a Teddy Graham? They’re a total throwback!

Little tiny bears

If you’re a big Oreo fan, you should love this funnel cake! Or, even if you just love chocolate and ice cream and sweet treats. If you don’t like any of those things, maybe stick to something with a different flavor profile, like a Dole Whip!

Eat it before it melts!

If you want to try this out for yourself, head on over to Critter Country and grab it at Hungry Bear Restaurant for $8.99. It’s a pretty decent sized dessert, so you could definitely split it with a friend! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney food news and reviews.
