Part-time Night/Weekend Editor
The part-time night and weekend editor can expect to work 24-28 hours per week. A weekly schedule would include weeknight shifts from approximately 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and weekend shifts between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. Schedules are subject to change based on availability.

Editor Job Description
Editors maintain the flow of content for WDWNT.com. The position entails writing articles, editing articles, optimizing articles for SEO, adhering to style guidelines, and publishing content on a strict schedule while overseeing a team of staff writers and social media managers. The editor will also monitor news and other sources of content, plus fact-check and research where necessary. You will, in essence, be fully running the website.
There is occasional downtime during non-peak schedules, but that doesn’t mean news doesn’t present itself late in the evening, especially since we cover all Disney and Universal Parks worldwide — you will be expected to be “on top” of news as soon as it breaks during your shifts, with a critical emphasis on speed.
The ideal applicant will be a self-starter with extensive knowledge of Disney Parks, plus speedy typing skills and the ability to manage digital media. Oh, and good grammar skills. (For example, if you don’t know how to use contractions or call it “Cinderella’s Castle,” please don’t bother applying.) Knowledge of Universal Parks and Resorts is preferred but not required.
The position’s salary is negotiable — DO NOTE that during the initial probationary period, you will be paid $15 hourly as we gauge your skills as a writer on the job. Upon successful completion of the probation period as a writer, you will be trained as an editor on nights and weekends (earning $18 an hour) and ultimately take on the role in full.
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of and passion for Disney parks and resorts (Eligible candidates must pass a test)
Professional writing experience (Preference will be given to candidates who provide writing samples)
Professional editing experience
WordPress (Gutenberg experience is a plus)
SEO knowledge
High-speed internet connection
A reliable computer (No tablets or netbooks—you must be able to work on a fast laptop or desktop computer)
Preferred skills:
Video and photo editing experience (You will be managing a high volume of photos and occasionally video files)
Social media experience
WPM of 70 or higher
While remote applicants are welcome, consistent and recent exposure to the parks is key in understanding their operation as a whole. If you have not been to Walt Disney World in over a year or two, you may compensate with research. However, with the ever-changing nature of the parks, if your only exposure is every few years or so, you will struggle with this position. Current Annual Passholders are strongly encouraged to apply.
If you are interested in this position, please fill out our application below and send a resume to [email protected]. Applicants should provide complete information and links to relevant writing samples, video samples, social sites, etc. Applicants who do not send in resumes will not be considered.
If you meet the initial qualifications, we will contact you for additional information and a follow-up test. Please do not inquire via social media or email other team members in lieu of an application.
Walt Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley has revealed more of the Connections Café and Eatery flooring inspired by Walt Disney’s original “Florida Project” plans. See photos and read Riddley’s post below.
Disney fans may recognize this first image from the EPCOT film, released in 1967, as Walt Disney described his grand vision for the “Florida project.” Standing proudly with pointer in hand, Walt relayed with great enthusiasm details on the early master plan for “Disney World,” including an “airport of the future,” an entrance complex for visitors, an industrial park and an area reserved for theme parks at the north of the property.
Walt passed away very soon after articulating this vision, but the spirit of his concept – that Walt Disney World and EPCOT would be a place where the power of possibility would inspire the world – lived on.
That idea is alive today and continues to inform our design choices for EPCOT. Drawing inspiration from Walt’s Florida project master plan, Imagineers designed a flooring inlay for Connections Eatery at EPCOT which would infuse the original DNA of the resort into this new location within World Celebration. One of my favorite details is the intersection of I-4 and US 192 highways, represented by the orange lines which cut across the map. Linework showing original ideas for EPCOT, Magic Kingdom and other recreational amenities reflect the diversity and scale that has always been the guiding vision for Walt Disney World.
Many guests may not know the origin of this design. But these details, big and small, matter to the work we do – reflecting our own history and bridging our past to our future. Walt dreamed of a place that would connect the world through ideas, wonder and inspiration. And we are honored to reflect his vision in our design for World Celebration and for Connections Café and Eatery.

Disney worked with Coach to create a brand-new 50th Anniversary merchandise collection, and there are over a dozen new items to choose from. From fanny packs to sliders to Mickey ears, the odds are good that you’ll find something you love. But are you ready to hear the most exciting news? You don’t even have to go to the Disney parks to get your hands on these items! Many of them are available online now. Take a look at the gorgeous (and very pricey) new collection here.
Coach is known for creating designer handbags, wallets, clothing, and accessories. This luxury brand worked with Disney to create a couple of new collections, all in celebration of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
New Coach items
We spotted the collections in all 4 Disney World parks, at Legends of Hollywood in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Discovery Trading in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom, and Creations Shop in EPCOT. But if you can’t get to the parks right now, you can also head online to shopDisney to pre-order several items! Let’s take a look at what’s available.
Get ready to shop!
First of all, you can get an embroidered Mickey Mouse & Friends Backpack with an allover design of the Coach logo and little pictures of Mickey and the gang!

And if it’s still a little chilly where you are, you could get the Mickey Mouse Hoodie! This sweatshirt has an all-over Coach logo design with Mickey Mouse on the front, along with some yellow and red stripes on the sleeves.

The website for Aulani has been updated to note a number of changes. For starters, the Safe Travels program has officially ended in Hawaii, meaning there are no longer any COVID-19 requirements for arriving domestic guests. International guests, however, may still have certain travel restrictions when it comes to visiting Hawaii.
But other changes have also recently been made at this resort specifically when it comes to mask requirements. Aulani’s website now notes that masks are optional for fully vaccinated guests in most indoor locations.
The website also notes that Disney expects guests who are not fully vaccinated to keep wearing masks at all indoor locations.
A chart on the website specifies the changes. At most indoor locations (including the Laniwai Spa and restaurants), fully vaccinated guests now have the option to wear or not wear a mask. Masks continue to be optional for all guests (regardless of vaccination status) in outdoor areas.
