REVIEW: New Ahsoka Tano-Themed Orange Vanilla Parfait from Galactic Grill at Disneyland Park

We tried the new Ahsoka Tano-themed dessert that just landed at Galactic Grill in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park. Keep on reading for our review!

Ahsoka Tano Orange Vanilla Parfait – $6.99

Layers of Orange Sponge Cake, Orange Marmalade, striped White Chocolate Mousse

This new dessert replaced the previous Boba Fett-themed Pistachio Cherry Chocolate Parfait.

The marmalade in this is so sweet. We would suggest trying to distribute it around a bit once you dig in.

It’s a good combination of artificial orange flavor in the cake and the intense sweetness of the sticky substance.

The vanilla cream balances things nicely.

We wish the pearls were distributed in layers. They add a nice crunch and some sugary sweetness as well. The lightsabers on top are made of white chocolate and are good quality.

It’s enjoyable — not a top tier Disneyland dessert — but good.

The new Star Wars “Ahsoka” live-action series will reportedly begin filming this spring.

Meet Autobots Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Together at Universal Studios Hollywood

During our adventures at Universal Studios Hollywood, we noticed the Autobots, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, were meeting together once again! You can meet them in the Lower Lot, right outside Transformers the Ride — 3D.

While waiting in line for the Autobots, we decided to pay a visit to Megatron.

Like the rest of the Decepticons, he wasn’t very friendly.

Then it was time to meet our favorite Transformers, the Autobots!

Optimus Prime came out first, followed by Bumblebee.

Optimus introduced himself to us.

Bumblebee seemed to be pretty interested in our phone.

Make sure to bring a camera and/or a friend with you to take photos! Team Members do not take photos for you. So we opted for a pretty epic selfie.

Watch our video of our full interaction with the Transformers below.

Have you met the Transformers before? Let us know in the comments!

Did We Find the GROSSEST Disney World Souvenir?

Disney puts out a lot of merch, and let’s be honest, not all of them are winners.

What is going on here?

We’ve seen some pretty strange Disney merch over the years including a dinosaur lightsaber (???), spaghetti Stitch, and poisonous trinket trays! We’re constantly checking all of the new merchandise that pops up around the Disney Parks, but there is one item that no matter how many times we see it, we can’t get behind it.

We’re talking about these squishy dinosaur toys from Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Let’s just say, the texture of these guys is something else. These dinos squish and stretch, and can get… sticky. If we wanted sticky in Disney World, we’d probably just stick to food.

Ew…

These dinos also have that type of rubber that gets really gross really fast. It’s only a matter of time before that green is looking a little brown. Kermit was right, it’s not easy being green, especially if you’re made out of green sticky rubber that gets dirty easily. (OK, that’s not how the song goes, but if Kermit felt one of these guys, we’re sure he’d agree.)

So…sticky

However, even though the squish of this guy isn’t for us, we can see kids really getting a kick out of these dinos. If you want to check these guys out for yourself, then you can find them in Dinoland, U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Pledge Your Allegiance to the First Order with This New Flag Now Available at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland

Let the First Order know that you do not support the Resistance with this new flag (or use it as a diversion). We purchased this new flag at First Order Cargo in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park.

First Order Flag – $39.99

This flag comes folded up and pre-packaged with an image of a Stormtrooper head showing on the front.

It is 5ft by 3ft in length with grommets, and can be used for indoor or outdoor use.

The flag is made out of 100% polyester.

When laid out, a line of Stormtroopers are at the bottom of the flag underneath “Protect the Galaxy” in white lettering. At the top is a silhouette of the skyline of Black Spire Outpost with TIE fighters flying throughout.

Will you be hanging this flag at your house? Let us know in the comments!

The BIG Way These 5 EPCOT Lounges Have Changed

A lot has changed in Disney World over the past two years and though some things have returned to how we remember them, others have taken on a new form entirely.

El Diablo

There are five POPULAR EPCOT spots that still haven’t gone to their pre-2020 norms. It’s unclear whether they ever will, but we want to make sure you know what to expect when you’re getting your lounge on in World Showcase. Let’s take a look!

We’re talking about five very popular EPCOT lounges that might look REALLY different if you haven’t visited in a while. Here’s what to expect!

La Cava del Tequila

First up, we’re swinging over to the Mexico Pavilion to talk about the ways that La Cava del Tequila has changed. This margarita-focused spot has a lot of fans and you’ll typically wait a bit to snag your sip — but the way you’ll wait has changed.

La Cava Del Tequila

Prior to the 2020 park closures, La Cava del Tequila operated under a different system. When you arrived, you’d walk up to the host podium and put your name down for a table. When a table was available, you’d be seated.

La Cava Del Tequila

Now, if you want a table at La Cave, you’ll need to wait through the entire margarita line. At the front of the line, you can put your name down with the hostess. This adds a LOT of time to your wait, but typically also means it’s easier to get a table.

Click here to learn more about drinking in La Cava!

Weinkeller

Our next stop is Weinkeller in the Germany Pavilion. This spot is popular for its variety of German wines and liqueurs. Pre-2020, this spot had a big community table in the middle of the room where guests could socialize and imbibe.

Weinkeller

Now, there is no seating and the middle of the room features merchandise — great for shopping, not for having a seat and a sip. We’ll, of course, keep an eye out for seating to return but for now, you’re snagging that drink to go.

Want to see more about Weinkeller? Click here!

Tutto Gusto

Heading into the Italy Pavilion, we gotta talk about a lounge that might be the most changed of ANY. Tutto Gusto is attached to the table-service restaurant Tutto Italia and used to be a great tucked-away spot to have a glass of wine and take a break from the crowds.

Tutto Gusto

A trip to Tutto Gusto used to mean grabbing a glass and snagging a first-come-first-serve table in the bar area. Tutto Gusto also had its own menu where you could order small plates for a delightful break on your World Showcase day.

Tutto Gusto

Now, Tutto Gusto serves the Tutto Italia menu and a Cast Member told us you have to get a full meal to be seated in the bar area. If you won’t be getting a full meal, you must get your drink from the stand-up bar and take it to go.

To learn about the drinks at Tutto Gusto, click here!

Mitsukoshi Sake Bar

Mitsukoshi Department Store is a very popular merchandise location in the Japan Pavilion. If you’ve only visited recently, you might be surprised to learn it even used to feature a sake bar!

Japan Pavilion

Prior to the pandemic, guests could head to the back of the store to pick up various sakes. However, this spot constitutes the biggest change on our list…the sake bar no longer exists!

Sake Bar

You can still purchase bottles of sake in Mitsukoshi, but if you’re looking for a drink, you’ll need to head outside to one of the walk-up quick-service locations.

Click here to learn what the sake bar was like when it was open!

Rose & Crown Pub

Rose & Crown Pub in the U.K. Pavilion is a table-service/lounge hybrid but we’ve seen change over on the pub side. Prior to 2020, this spot had seating where you could grab a pint and listen to the piano player tickling the ivories.

Rose and Crown Pub

When the pub reopened, the seating was removed. Instead, you had to head up to the bar, order, and then take your drink to-go. Interestingly enough, this spot is at least partially changing back.

Rose and Crown pub is open

Some of the tables have returned but you’ll still have to head out to the back of the U.K. Pavilion to hear that piano player play!

As you can see, the lounges of EPCOT look pretty different now. Hopefully, this guide helps you to navigate them on your next visit! As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney World updates.

Caribbean Cay Bridge Under Refurbishment at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

One of the bridges leading to Caribbean Cay at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is undergoing some external refurbishment.

Brown scrim now covers the outside of the bridge. And the bridge remains open.

This is one of the bridges that leads to Caribbean Cay, located in Barefoot Bay at the resort, where there are hammocks, picnic tables, play areas, as well as short walking paths and covered seating areas.

SKIP the EPCOT Crowds and Shop the Flower & Garden Merch HERE Instead!

The EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival is a colorful, tasty, and (of course) floral event — but it can also bring in some BIG crowds. With so many people all around and a full list of snacks to try, you might not have time to stop and browse the merchandise! Have you ever seen a piece of Disney merch and thought to yourself, “That’s cute, but I’ll buy it later,” but then you ran out of time?

Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot

If your trip around the World Showcase felt like it went by in the blink of an eye, we’ve got some good news! You’ve got MORE opportunities to check out the Flower & Garden Festival merchandise in Disney World WITHOUT stepping foot in EPCOT.

When we visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we expect to see characters like Rafiki, Simba, Flik, and the Disco Yeti (he’s sort of a local legend around Mt. Everest). We did NOT expect to see the Orange Bird! This merchandise collection is part of the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival, but somehow it ended up at the Discovery Trading Company store in Animal Kingdom.

There may not be any topiaries, but there IS DiVine!

Inside Discovery Trading, we found MORE Flower and Garden Festival items! This pastel-colored “Grow Happiness” collection has a floral gardening theme. It’s perfect for spring!

What’s next — Disneyland merchandise in Disney World?!

Even the Magic Kingdom wanted in on the Flower and Garden Festival action, apparently! The Emporium store on Main Street, U.S.A. has the new Orange Bird button-down shirts, which have been pretty popular so far this year.

This merchandise is all over the place!

In fact, the Emporium had an entire WALL of Orange Bird merchandise! If you missed it at EPCOT, it looks like there are plenty of other places around Disney World to grab some citrus-themed goodies. Disney also has a few of these items online, so check out shopDisney if you want to do a little shopping from home.

Well, this might save you a trip to EPCOT!

Well, at least you have plenty of chances to check out the new merchandise! In the meantime, stay tuned for all the latest Disney news and park updates!
