New Halloween Horror Nights 31 Merchandise, Event Dates Announced, Mardi Gras Tree Beads Removed, and More: Universal Orlando Resort Photo Report 3/24/22

Welcome to a gray, spooky day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. It’s been an exciting morning, with announcements for Halloween Horror Nights dates and tickets going on sale. When we arrived at the park, it was very overcast, so we decided to quickly make our way into the parks before the rain starts.

Making our way towards CityWalk, we spotted the Mardi Gras tree looking pretty bare. The branches are looking kind of empty now, but there are still a few beads hanging. The circle of life.

Welcome to Universal Orlando. This is an interesting sign.

The large, open holes above the entrance of the now permanently closed Shrek 4-D attraction have been covered with a board. This looks better than it did after they removed the sign.

We also found our very first pieces of HHN 31 merchandise. An ornament and a shirt are now available to remind you to “Never Go Alone.”

The Ube Bubble Waffles are seriously amazing. Even though we’ve been hyped for Halloween Horror Nights all day, Mardi Gras is still taking place for another month. We also stopped and grabbed some Yucca Fries from the food truck in New York. These are delicious and one of the cheapest items available for Mardi Gras.

It’s always busy in Diagon Alley, even if the rest of the park is quiet.

The UOAP Mardi Gras shirt is on sale in the Tribute Store.

A brand new popcorn cup is available. We spotted this one at the front of Universal Studios Florida.

The details are great.

If you’re looking to send anything through the Owl Post in the Wizarding World, be aware they no longer have the themed stamps. You’ll still get an Owl Post postmark, though.

A rainy day in Jurassic Park is appropriately themed.

There’s a long line of guests waiting to meet a raptor at Raptor Encounter.

There is only a 15 minute wait for Kong. We must have timed this just right. Looks like this is where we part ways for the day. We’re going to Skull Island.

Thanks for joining us around the parks today. We’ll be back again soon, so stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for more updates.

‘Hello Kitty Happiness Brass Band’ Brings Cute & Fun Pop Hits With Band to Universal Studios Japan

Every year, Universal Studios Japan refreshes their outdoor entertainment slate, with just about every show getting changed out for something new and more fun. With the conclusion of the World Street Festival theme, the former Power of Pop group has retired, and one of Japan’s most well-known kawaii exports has taken over — Hello Kitty!

Now you might be wondering how something with a name like “Happiness Brass Band” would be fun and engaging, but the team at Universal Studios Japan really hit it out of the park with fun and adorable choreography, excellent performers, and a great musical slate which includes pop hits from both Japan and the West.

You can watch the full 15-minute performance above courtesy of our YouTube channel.

“Hello Kitty Happiness Brass Band” runs 4-5 times daily through early 2023, so be sure to stop over in front of Mel’s Drive-In at Universal Studios Japan next time to watch. You’ll be glad you did!

New Secret Songs Added To Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Toppings Bar Returns at Burger Digs, Poseidon’s Fury Opens, and More: Universal Orlando Resort Photo Report 3/22/22

It’s another beautiful, sunny day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. It looks like it’s going to be busy, too. So let’s get going and head over to Universal Studios Florida first.

There was a lot of traffic with people waiting to park. Thankfully, there were no lines at security so we got into CityWalk with ease.

Just another afternoon in Diagon Alley. If you can get to the parks early, you’ll have a much more enjoyable experience in the Wizarding World. Bring your patience if you’re going late in the afternoon during Spring Break!

Casting spells is much easier with lower crowds.

There’s even a line for the telephone.

Two new songs have been added to the secret song list for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. You can check out our full guide to the secret song list here.

Next stop of the day is Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Is that Dennis Nedry over there?

Poseidon’s Fury reopened recently, but the last few days it has been closed. Luckily, it opened this afternoon. There was a 45 minute wait for it when we walked by.

The Jurassic Park Discovery Center is truly a hidden gem. The Team Members here are always interacting with guests and it adds a lot to the experience here in Jurassic Park.

The line for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure often starts back in the Lost Continent. Save yourself the extra walking around and be sure to look for the signs with arrows and Team Members at the entrance.

Team Members help control the flow of traffic at the intersection of the Hogwarts Express and the line for Hagrid’s.

Is the proper way to exit the queue stepping over the chains or crawling under them? Trick question. Neither of these is the proper way to navigate a queue.

That kid is making a core memory.

Time to get out of here.

The toppings bar has returned to Burger Digs after two years.

Additional seating has been set up in this shady area near Pizza Predattoria. This is much needed and much appreciated on busy days. We love seeing Universal take extra steps to handle the crowds. Additional food and drink carts are set up all over the parks, too.

That’s all for this visit to the Universal Orlando Resort. Thanks for following us through the parks today. Be sure to stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for more updates.

New 55th Anniversary ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Merchandise Sails into Disneyland Resort

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me! This year marks the 55th anniversary of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland Park. The attraction opened on March 18, 1967.

In honor of the anniversary, Disney released a few new merchandise items, including a raglan tee and a water bottle. We found these in Disneyana in Disneyland Park.

“Pirates of the Caribbean” Raglan T-shirt – $36.99

The raglan tee is two different shades of grey.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” logo is on the left breast. Above the logo is a pirate skull with green jeweled eyes. And “55th Anniversary” is printed on the pirate’s hat.

On the back of the tee is a large “Pirates of the Caribbean” logo with “55th Anniversary” beneath it, across a ship steering wheel. The Disneyland Resort logo is underneath.

“Pirates of the Caribbean” Water Bottle – $27.99

This water bottle is black with a design of a skeleton pirate, a pirate ship, and a treasure chest. Throughout the design, it says “Pirates of the Caribbean, 55th Anniversary” on a scroll.

On the other side, it says “Disneyland Resort” towards the bottom of the bottle in teal lettering.

The bottle has a black lid with a handle and is not microwave or dishwasher safe.

A new “Pirates of the Caribbean” pin was also recently released. And you can view it here.
