REVIEW: Key Lime Pie Seasonal Soft Serve at Disney’s Old Key West Resort is Satisfying

Good’s Food To Go at Disney’s Old Key West Resort has trotted out their latest seasonal soft serve flavor, this time based around the classic Florida treat — key lime pie! Naturally we had to give it a try, so we took a bus down to the resort for ourselves.

Key Lime Pie Seasonal Soft-Serve Cup – $4.99

The soft serve is a swirl between vanilla and Lime Dole Whip, with graham cracker crumbles on top. The machine may or may not have had some issues when we went for ours, as it started liquefying pretty much right as the Cast Member handed it over.

The vanilla is your basic vanilla flavor, Anandapur Ice Cream Truck at Disney’s Animal Kingdom does it better.

The lime is a little tart, almost bitter, but there is a lingering sweetness from it. The vanilla helps to balance this out by adding some creaminess. The key lime side is dairy free. The crumbles gave texture and there was a decent amount of sprinkles where we got them in each bite, but this made a real mess because of its immediate liquefaction.

It’s not terrible by any means, it’s still good. And if you happen to be at Old Key West already, it’s worth picking up. But we prefer the blueberry lemonade swirl from Refreshment Port or the tangerine from Refreshment Outpost over this.

What do you think? Will you try this new soft serve treat? Let us know in the comments below!

Inside is the hilt and charms of the Aurebesh alphabet.

You can use the charms to customize your lightsaber.

There’s a spot on the hilt to attach one of the letters.

Unlike other Legacy Lightsabers, this hilt isn’t inspired by a particular character but instead by the training sabers used on the ship.

It is silver with a red button and black handle.

There are stripes pressed into the metal.

The Chandrila Star Line logo is in black on the bottom of the hilt.

Here’s what it looks like with a blade attached. It lights up blue.

A Braille map at EPCOT shows the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction, which is rumored to open this Memorial Day

As the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind inches closer to opening day, the attraction has crossed many small milestones. Two weeks ago, lighting packages were tested on the exterior and the Nova Corps Star Blaster.

Recently, we saw that the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coaster had been added to the EPCOT map on My Disney Experience.

Now, we have seen the coaster marked on another Braille map .

The red building marked “Coming Soon” is the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Attraction building.

Are you looking forward to this new attraction at EPCOT? Let us know in the comments.

New Lights Added to Mary Blair Mural Column in Lobby of Disney’s Contemporary Resort

New column lights have been added to the large column of Mary Blair artwork in the lobby of Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

The ring of light shining down on the artwork previously existed, but the wooden column pieces with white light panels are new.

The light panels were not on when we stopped by the resort.

These new light columns are every few feet around the main column and connect with an angled piece to the ceiling.

The lobby of Disney’s Contemporary Resort was refurbished last year, drawing inspiration from mid-century design and Mary Blair’s art. In recent weeks, there have been a few minor updates made to the lobby, including switching out the front desks.

From all of the amazing rides, yummy treats to try, and festivals, it’s really difficult to get bored. We’re always on the lookout for fun and lesser-known activities, and today that took us over to Disney Springs. This area is full of shopping and food options, and today we went to the LEGO Store to customize our very own LEGO Minifigure!

On top of selling tons of LEGO sets ranging from Star Wars ships to Disney castles, the LEGO Store has a station where you can also create your own Minifigure right in the store!

LEGO Store

At this station, they had examples of what all of the different elements of the figure could look like.

Minifigure Parts

You can customize your Minifigure on these tablets. Here’s what it looked like when we were selecting the clothing!

You can customize your LEGO’s clothes!

If you don’t want to choose from any of LEGO’s designs, you can draw your own design to go on the Minifigure’s shirt!

You can even draw your own design!

We decided to customize the top with snacks, because we are DFB, after all! We ended up picking a cupcake, a pretzel, a turkey leg, and a donut.

We had to add some snacks to ours!

You can customize the back of the shirt as well! We chose a camera and this cute text that said “Orlando.”

You can also customize the back!

You can also pick an accessory for the Minifigure to hold. There are tons of options to choose from like flowers or soccer balls. We ended up choosing a pie!

Lastly, all that was left to do was name our Minifigure, and you already know we had to represent DFB!

Time to name her!

And this is what our Minifigure looked like all put together! We thought she turned out super cute, and we got this colorful little LEGO box to take her home in.

Our custom LEGO Minifigure!

Here’s a closer look at our Minifigure. You can even give the figures glasses, which we added, and all of the little snacks came out so well on her top!

Closer look at her fit!

The camera and “Orlando” text came out great too.

The design on the back of the shirt came out great!

Construction Ongoing for Halloween Horror Nights Mazes and Scarezones at Universal Studios Hollywood

You might think it’s a bit early to be preparing for spooky season, but is it really? Construction has begun on multiple Halloween Horror Nights mazes at Universal Studios Hollywood. We can spot one maze being constructed in a backstage parking lot.

The maze building has been more enclosed with wood paneling.

It has a black tent roof.

There are multiple doors and windows in the sides of the building.

The façade resembles a suburban house, with paned windows, a front door, and a chimney sticking out of the roof. Themed paneling and paint have yet to be added.

Some wood planks were stacked next to the tent awaiting installation. This could be for a Scarecrow-themed maze.

Inside the park, there are construction walls up next to Mel’s Diner.

More construction walls are up next to The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash.

These sets of walls could possibly be for the construction of scarezones.

Next to Revenge of the Mummy, another tent has been erected with a façade coming together.

According to the speculation map, this maze could be Universal Monsters: The Mummy.

The façade is still just wood planks right now and has not been enclosed.

Some reddish wood is also visible at the back of the tent.

Check out the Halloween Horror Nights speculation map. And let us know if you’re excited in the comments below!
