Disney World 50th Anniversary Decorations Being Removed at Orlando International Airport

There’s nothing like the feeling of landing at the Orlando International Airport at the start of your Disney World vacation, is there? After a long day of travel, you’ve finally arrived and are on your way to Disney.

Orlando International Airport 50th Anniversary Display

Back in June, it was announced that landing in Orlando would become even more magical and the airport would be adding some new displays to the arrivals area in celebration of the Disney World’s 50th anniversary. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and Orlando International Airport announced today that they would begin the process of removing these displays.

The 50th anniversary decorations are going to start being removed tonight at the airport. There were no details provided on when they would all be gone.

Fans were a little surprised to hear the news that they would be taken down so soon, as Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration is 18 months long and just began on October 1st, 2021.

Travelers heading through Orlando Airport will still be able to get their Disney fix even after the displays are taken down at the Magic of Disney store located inside the airport. We’ll be sure to keep our eye on Orlando Airport as these decorations start coming down, so stay tuned to DFB for more updates!

Eggstravaganza Easter Scavenger Hunt Returning to Disneyland Resort on March 31, 2022

Disneyland Resort guests can take part in a special egg hunt tradition this Easter season with the Eggstravaganza beginning March 31, 2022.

Celebrate the springtime tradition of Eggstravaganza — a special “egg” hunt throughout the Disneyland Resort from March 31 to April 17, 2022.

If you happen to be visiting the Disneyland Resort during this time, you may hop on over to pick up your game board and stickers for $9.99* (plus tax) at select merchandise locations throughout the Disneyland Resort. There are three different game boards, depending on where you decide to play: one each at Disneyland park, Disney California Adventure park and at Downtown Disney District.

Then, let the hunt begin! You’ll have an eggscellent time eggsploring for hidden “eggs” painted as Disney characters. Who knows, you may spot a Donald Duck egg on a window ledge or a Goofy egg in the nook of a doorway in areas around the resort. Can you find them all? Check off your discoveries by placing the corresponding sticker on the themed Eggstravaganza game board.

Whether you choose to hunt for eggs or not, return your game board to collect an eggsceptional surprise – one of six collectible eggs (see above).

Redemption locations include Plaza Point at Disneyland park, Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure park, and Disney’s Pin Traders and World of Disney at Downtown Disney District, while supplies last.

*Purchasing limits will apply, and game boards are available while supplies last. Limit of 6 game boards per person. One surprise per game board. Game board redemption is valid through April 30, 2022. The experience is subject to restrictions and may change or be canceled without notice.

Tokyo Disney Resort Shares Preview Video of Toy Story Hotel

Tokyo Disney Resort has shared a video preview of their new Toy Story Hotel, which will be opening on April 5, 2022.

The video includes a look at the exterior and interior of the hotel, which is full of wall-to-wall “Toy Story” references.

Giant versions of the “Toy Story” characters can be found throughout the resort.

The lobby has a Little Bo Peep board game on the ceiling and colored pencil columns.

The video included a look at some of the food that will be available at Lotso Garden Cafe.

A look inside one of the hotel rooms shows an Etch A Sketch TV, beds decorated with red bandanna runners, and cloud-covered walls — just like Andy’s room.

Check out merchandise for the Toy Story Hotel.

Disney Cultural Representative Program Returning this Summer!

It’s been announced today that the Disney Cultural Representative Program is returning in phases to Walt Disney World, with the first representatives arriving in August!

The search for Cultural Representative cast members, who play a role throughout Disney property but most specifically EPCOT’s World Showcase, will kick off with giving the chance to those whose programs were ended prematurely or whose programs were cancelled altogether in 2020.

Initially, Cultural Representatives will be found from the countries of Germany, Norway, Italy, France, UK, and Canada to staff the World Showcase pavilions. The search will broaden and those from additional countries will be able to apply “once they clear travel restrictions and/or have CDC-authorized vaccine availability.”

The complete details from Disney are below:

Since the reopening of Walt Disney World, we’ve frequently been asked when Disney International Programs will bring back the Disney Cultural Representatives.

Today, we’re thrilled to announce the Disney Cultural Representative program will return in phases and begin welcoming the first new participants in August.

The Cultural Representatives play an important role in our storytelling by helping us create authentic, immersive experiences for our guests as they share their countries’ culture, heritage and traditions that have inspired our resorts, pavilions, and theme parks.

We know how much our guests and cast love the program and have been waiting for just the right moment to reintroduce it. As we continue to bring back more cast and guest experiences, we are encouraged by the progress we’re seeing in recent health trends, including the return of international travel and the expansion of vaccine availability around the world.

Right now, we are reaching out to participants from select countries whose program was shortened, cancelled or waitlisted in 2020, as well as those who had an offer and had not yet arrived, and offering them the first opportunity to reapply. We will then invite others to apply soon.

We are doing this in a thoughtful and responsible way with the safety of our participants and working cast top of mind. With this phased re-introduction, initial recruitment will start in Germany, Norway, Italy, France, UK, and Canada for World Showcase at EPCOT. We look forward to bringing additional countries on board and sharing applications with them once they clear travel restrictions and / or have CDC-authorized vaccine availability.

We’re building on the solid foundation of last year’s relaunch of the Disney College Program. Both programs provide a great pathway for career development as they offer participants the opportunity to learn, grow and develop and as they stay at Flamingo Crossings Village, a new state-of-the-art housing complex.

We’re eagerly counting down the days until we welcome back our Cultural Representatives and will continue to keep you updated as more countries join us to share their magic in our parks and resorts.
