It’s no secret that there’s always something changing around the Disney World parks!
Whether it’s a new attraction being built or renovations on your favorite restaurant — it’s important to stay updated on all the construction happening around Disney World property. So, let’s take a look at all the construction updates in Disney World this week!
Magic Kingdom
TRON: Lightcycle Run
This attraction has been in the making for quite some time — and this week, we saw more of the white canopy material was installed!
And here we can see a better look at the crews attaching the material to the canopy structure.
While Disney has yet to announce an opening date for this attraction, you can be sure we’ll be bringing you updates along the way!
Here’s Everything You Need to Know About the Tron Ride
Splash Mountain
Over near Splash Mountain, we noticed the ground near the entrance to the ride was being worked on.
It looked like there was a fresh coat of paint or concrete — but we’ll keep an eye on this area to see if any more work begins.

EPCOT
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Over in EPCOT, we got a BIG update on the Guardians of the Galaxy ride by getting a sneak peek at the interior loading area from the Walt Disney Imagineering Instagram!
We haven’t seen much more progress on the exterior of the ride, as it looks like crews are getting pretty close to wrapping up for the scheduled summer 2022 opening date!

Connections Cafe and Eatery
The lights are on over at what will eventually be Connections Cafe in EPCOT!
We can’t wait to experience all this restaurant will have to offer, but for now, Disney is staying quiet on what kind of cuisine we can expect from this eatery and just exactly when it will open!
Moana: Journey of Water
We got to see quite a bit of progress on this attraction during a monorail ride on our last visit to EPCOT…
…and we’re still getting some excellent views of those Disney construction walls, too!
At this time, an opening timeline has not been announced. We’re keeping a close watch on this attraction, so stay tuned to DFB for updates!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Toy Story Mania Gift Shop
Unfortunately, there isn’t much to see here since all the updates are going on behind closed doors! We’re still seeing the same brown scrim…
…and the temporary green wall is still up as well.
Although Disney hasn’t confirmed anything yet, this could be where the new gift shop coming to Toy Story Land will end up!

Sunset Club Couture
Sunset Club Couture is getting a makeover! While the shop remains open for you to peruse and purchase, the exterior of the building is being painted a lighter blue!
We’ll keep an eye on this merch shop in case there are any more renovations planned!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Expedition Everest
The Yeti has been hibernating for quite some time, and so has Expedition Everest along with it! The popular attraction is closed for routine refurbishments, but we do catch the occasional vehicle testing from time to time.
Caught some testing today. It’s still expected to be closed for refurbishment until mid-April. pic.twitter.com/AEUZ8wnzex

We won’t have to wait much longer to climb this mountain, as Expedition Everest is scheduled to reopen in April 2022.
Disney Resorts
Yacht Club
Over at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, there’s some construction taking place on the interior of the building…
… and there’s signage up indicating there are detours to get to Ale and Compass!
We’re not quite sure what refurbishments are taking place here, but you can be sure we’ll update you if we learn any news!
And that’s it for construction updates around Disney World this week. Things are always changing around the Disney property, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
