Magic Kingdom
A lot has returned to the parks since Disney World reopened in 2020. We’ve celebrated the reopening of some of our favorite restaurants, enjoyed the return of ride pre-shows, and marked our calendars for the last Disney World hotel to finally open its doors at the end of this month. Now, a MAJOR entertainment offering is finally back in Disney World!
Did you already guess the reason for our excitement? The Festival of Fantasy parade is BACK in Magic Kingdom! We’ve seen some parades return to Disney World during the holiday season, but now the regular daytime parade has finally returned. Festival of Fantasy is a fun and gorgeous display of several Disney movies and characters.

We learned that this parade would return from Destination D23 in 2021, and we revealed the return date in January 2022. But now that date has arrived and we’re lining Main Street U.S.A. to watch the whimsical show. Come along with us to see its grand return!

The parade begins in Frontierland, winds through Liberty Square, and finishes with a grand finale down Main Street, U.S.A.
It’s starting!
Todays parade started out with Cast Members being honored as Disney ambassadors! They got to ride along in a very fancy old-fashioned car.
So cool!
You’ll first see a float with Disney princesses, including Belle…
Here they come!
…Cinderella…
As regal as ever
…Tiana…
Looking amazing, of course!
…and Elsa! They’re greeting guests from a float that looks like a royal garden.
Catch a glimpse of Olaf, too!
Next up is the Tangled-inspired float, which looks like a huge boat with swinging axes. You’ll see Rapunzel in the ship…
Punzie!
….and Flynn is hanging out on those huge pendulums…
Be careful, Flynn!
…along with other Tangled characters.

The Little Mermaid float is a chariot. But, it is introduced by these absolutely fabulous fish dancers!

The float has all kinds of sea creatures and treasures, and Ariel herself is on top with Flounder.
Under the sea or on top of a float?
Don’t be scared by the huge skull that introduces the next float — it’s arrived straight from Neverland! But first, you’ll see Wendy and some of the Lost Boys.
Look who’s coming up next!
On top of the float is Peter Pan…

…and Captain Hook is underneath the rainbow swinging on a giant anchor!

On the back is Tinker Bell!

Up next, introducing a very intimidating float, you’ll spot Prince Phillip and Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather.
Hello, Philip. Shouldn’t you be fighting that dragon behind you?
They’re followed by frightening raven-like figures on stilts.
Creepy!
Then, we see the return of the Maleficent Dragon float! This is a huge steampunk-style dragon that actually breathes fire. Watch for cool details like a spinning wheel inside the dragon’s ribcage!
She’s BACK!
The finale is a huge float, lead by Jimmy Cricket!

If you’re hoping to catch the parade soon, you can watch it at 11:30AM and 2:30PM from March 9th through the 12th. After that, the parade will run every day at 12PM and 3PM. These times are subject to change, so keep an eye on the schedule in the My Disney Experience app.
