Today, we stopped by The Market at Ale & Compass inside Disney’s Yacht Club Resort to try the new St. Patrick’s Day Irish Chocolate Cream Cupcake and Vanilla Mickey Cupcake.
Irish Chocolate Cream Cupcake – $6.29
Chocolate cupcake with an Irish cream mousse covered in chocolate ganache and finished with chocolate and vanilla crisp pearls and a chocolate clover
This chocolate cupcake is topped with a white chocolate mousse dome. We found the cake nice and moist.
The light mousse tastes more like vanilla than white chocolate or Baileys. Bailey’s Irish Cream is listed as an ingredient, but we don’t find the flavor anywhere in the cupcake.
The mousse and cake fit well together. Nothing is too sweet or overpowering. The gold pearls add crunch to the soft cupcake.
This treat would be great with a cup of coffee. We recommend it if you find yourself at The Market at Ale & Compass, but we wouldn’t go out of our way for it.
Vanilla Mickey St. Patrick’s Day Cupcake – $6.29
This basic vanilla Disney cupcake has a cute St. Patrick’s day twist.
It’s a vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream and festive sprinkles. We found this one a little dry.
We suspect the filling is supposed to be Irish cream (no description of the cake was available). However, it tastes like vanilla, and it definitely needs more filling.
The icing tastes like food coloring. Overall, this snack was not our pot of gold.
