REVIEW: Disney World’s New ‘Encanto’ Treats Are Hiding in An Unexpected Place

Since December of last year, everyone in the Disney spheres has been talking about one thing and one thing only…

Encanto! (What, did you think we were going to say Bruno? We don’t talk about him). Okay, maybe we’ve been talking about a liiiittle more than that (like the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser and the crowds in the theme parks), but Encanto has been a hot topic ever since it hit Disney+ last year. And now, the film has brought some new treats to Disney World!

In honor of Women’s History Month, Disney World is offering new snacks to celebrate the women of Encanto. We found all three of these treats at the World Premiere Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. (Although the cupcake can also be found at Art of Animation Resort.)

First up on our list is the Mirabel Cupcake, inspired by the movie’s main character. It’s a cinnamon cupcake filled with custard and topped with coconut buttercream, toasted coconut, and Mirabel-inspired fondant garnishes, and we got it for $5.79.

Mirabel Cupcake

The cupcake was really delicious and reminded us a lot of a coffee cake — it was really moist and fluffier than we were expecting. At first, the flavor is buttery, but you also get a kick of cinnamon at the end. The vanilla coconut custard was also really fluffy, and it paired well with the toasted coconut on top.

The buttercream frosting was quite sweet, but we expected that from a buttercream, and it’s balanced out by the rest of the cupcake. If you took that frosting off the top, it would feel more like a muffin that you’d eat for breakfast! All in all, it was pretty spectacular, and the reporter who tried it even called it her “new favorite cupcake!”

It’s really cute!

The second treat we had to try was the Luisa Push-Up Cake Pop for $5.29. It’s made with layers of vanilla cake and tres leches pastry cream, all topped with a donut “boulder.”

The boulder on top is basically a glazed donut hole, and it was really fresh and fluffy. (Who knew we’d be using the word “fluffy” so much today?!) The vanilla cake was incredibly moist because of the tres leches, and it might be a little too mushy for some people, but we absolutely loved the pairing.

A little fluffy boulder.

The tres leches gives the cake a creamy, somewhat caramel flavor. The treat overall isn’t too sweet, so the flavors aren’t overwhelming, but well-balanced. While the push-up may be fun for kids, we did find the format to be a tad impractical for this particular treat.

The flavors were good!

And finally, we tried the Encanto Cholado, made with crushed ice topped with sliced fresh fruit, sweetened condensed milk, and shredded coconut. This really unique treat can be ordered for $6.99.

Encanto Cholado

We found this one to be really refreshing! The strawberries and bananas were VERY cold thanks to the mound of ice that was in the cup. The condensed milk didn’t come through for us quite as much, but it could’ve been because ours was really melted. We got a slight sweetness from it, but that was about it.

Very delicious fruit!

We liked the added touch of the toasted coconut for aesthetic reasons, but it’s not very practical to eat because you have to lick the side of the cup in order to get to it. If that’s your game, go for it…but for us it was a tad bit weird. 😂

That coconut is HARD to eat.
