REVIEW: We SKIPPED a Disney Cupcake For an Apple. It Was Worth It.

Spring is in the air which means there are a lot of pastel treats popping up around Disney World — and we’re not complaining.

Bakery Case

The bakery cases of Disney World are full of new springtime-y treats next to the classics and we love to see them. From cupcakes to caramel apples, your sweet tooth might be pulling you towards an Easter or flower-themed sweet. Ours certainly did and we’re trying out one of the most photogenic treats in the bakery case!

We headed over to Big Top Treats to take a closer look at the special Easter and springtime items that occupy the bakery case! We spotted colorful cupcakes that called to us.

Take a look at this Pastel Minnie Chocolate Cupcake! Those layers of icing are perfect for matching the floral colors of the season.

Want something a little greener? This Spring Mickey Cupcake has green icing to look like grass and comes with a springtime charm. Some of the ones we saw were beehives and others were Easter eggs!

Moooooving on, there are also some positively adorable apple-based treats. We honestly might even feel a little bad biting into that sweet bunny.

But we just HAD to snag the Easter Minnie Caramel Apple to try today!

Easter Minnie Caramel Apple

This treat is a Granny Smith apple with a layer of caramel and colored white chocolate on the outside.

Add marshmallow ears, a sugar dip, and some icing details and this treat is bringing the spring vibes.

Seriously, how photogenic is that? But how does it taste?

Pretty good! Treats like this are fairly classic. The apple was fresh and tart which helped to balance the sweetness from the caramel and the white chocolate. It’s hard to pass on a sticky layer of caramel.

Apples like this tend to be a bit unwieldy to eat so make sure you grab a knife to slice it into pieces. It’s not easy to bite in with just your teeth! The sugar shell on the bottom of this one was a little weird texturally, but overall, this was a classic, pretty, and tasty treat.
