REVIEW: Why You Should Try a Chicken Cupcake in Disney WorldđŸ„

It’s springtime in Disney World, which means there are fun treats, warm weather, and big crowds.

Grapefruit Tart at The Citrus Blossom

Let’s talk more about those fun treats, though! We’ve seen a bunch of spring desserts at this year’s EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival, and Hollywood Studios even released 8 new treats for the season. Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, there is a special new spot to grab springtime sweets, and we just tried out a fun cupcake there that has something for almost everyone!

This is the Plant Based Lemon Chick Cupcake!

A little chick!

It’s baked fresh every single day over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Here’s a look at what it’s made of! The buttercream on top of this cupcake is lightly lemon flavored and the inside of the cupcake also contains lemon curd.

A look at the ingredients!

This cupcake was very tasty! The lemon flavor didn’t taste artificial at all, and it wasn’t overwhelming. Our reporter doesn’t even really like lemon and he still thought the flavor was delicious! The plant based buttercream tasted just like normal buttercream, and the lemon flavoring was nice and light (we are a little worried about this chick’s angry expression, though).

Our chick looks a little bit angry

Unfortunately though, the actual cake itself was a little dry. Thankfully, there was a lot of buttercream and enough lemon curd inside to make up for the dryness, but when we just tasted the cake on its own, it didn’t have enough moisture for us.

Why is it mad?!

But, the lemon curd inside was great! There was just the right amount to balance the cupcake, and it added a tartness that wasn’t too harsh.

A peek inside

This cupcake isn’t really marketed as plant based. If you ask about plant based items at The Grand Cottage, the Cast Members will tell you about the cupcake, or you can read it on the bottom label, but it’s not promoted. And, we really wouldn’t have been able to tell that this cupcake is plant based just by tasting it!

Just enough lemon curd!

If you enjoy lemon and/or are plant based, you should like this sweet treat! But, if you absolutely hate the fruit, try something else here, like that giant chocolate egg filled with jelly beans.

JELLY BEANS!

You can get the cupcake for $5.99 until April 18th, 2022! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World snack news and reviews.
