The 3 Most Unexpected Things That Happened in Disney World in February!

Winter is almost over in Florida and we can certainly feel the heat coming back.

EPCOT

That’s right, we’ve made it through another month of 2022, and February, though short, did bring us some SURPRISING updates. From health measures to mystery pizza, here are the 3 most unexpected things that happened in Disney World last month!

1. Disney World suspended its mask mandate.

We’ve seen SO many changes to Disney World’s mask policy over the last two years so most updates don’t surprise us too much. However, we didn’t expect Disney World to suspend its mask mandate halfway through February.

As of February 17th, Disney World no longer requires face masks indoors or outdoors for fully vaccinated guests. The policy states, “We expect Guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations.”

Face coverings remain required by all guests ages 2 and up on enclosed Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails, and Disney Skyliner. Make sure you keep an eye on DFB for ALL the Disney World health updates.

2. It got CROWDED.

Disney World has been CROWDED so far in 2022 and February continued this surprising trend. Typically, this is one of the slowest months of the year outside of race weekends but that was NOT the case.

Crowds

Yes, the race weekend brought the crowds with the runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, but we didn’t expect such wild crowds the rest of the month too.

Fingers crossed this crowd disperses when we get to the park!

It even took us TWICE as long as usual to get to Magic Kingdom one day because of the security lines at the Transportation and Ticket Center. Whew!

3. There was mystery pizza in Magic Kingdom?

This next one might not be the most important piece of news, but it might be the most unexpected. We were strolling through Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland when we spotted Cast Members moving past with GIANT stacks of Little Caesar’s pizza. Uh…what?

Uh…is that Little Caesars pizza?

They wheeled the goods backstage so the ‘za was for Cast Members but it was still a surprising sight on our Magic Kingdom morning! We guess Pinocchio’s Village Haus pillow pizza just wasn’t cutting it.
