Sometimes it feels like traveling to Disney World just keeps getting more and more complicated.
Flight prices continue to rise, even amidst frequent flight delays and cancellations. Still, American Airlines is in search of a way to make your travel experience a bit more streamlined — and here’s how that could affect your next trip.
According to The Washington Post, American Airlines is partnering with transportation company Landline to connect airports via bus service beginning on June 3rd. The airports will include Philadelphia International Airport, Lehigh Valley International Airport, and Atlantic City International Airport.
Philadelphia Airport is one of American Airline’s hubs, and American’s vice president of network planning said that this partnership is their way of “making it easy for customers to connect to American’s premier trans-Atlantic gateway in Philadelphia.” With this plan, customers can begin their travel at their local airport, and the bus commute would just be another part of the journey.
Travelers can book their Landline bus travel through American Airlines as long as Lehigh Valley or Atlantic City is their destination or origin, and the price of the bus is included in their travel.
The process will allow customers to check-in with American at their local airport and even go through security, after which they will begin their bus journey. When the bus arrives at Philadelphia Airport, customers will be brought directly to the terminal to head to their flight. Regulatory approval is still pending for this process, according to The Washington Post.
Checked baggage will be transferred between the buses and airplanes, and if you’re a member of American’s AAdvantage program you can also earn miles for traveling by bus. Each bus will feature free WiFi and leather seats, and they can hold up to 35 people. Instead of having to arrange for multiple forms of transportation for your flight, you can book your airline and bus at the same time.
According to The Washington Post, this is not the first partnership for Landline, and Scott Keyes, founder of Scott’s Cheap Flights, said that this kind of partnership could be considered a solution to the current pilot shortage. It can also connect smaller communities, and even provide a more environmentally friendly option than airfare.
If you’re connected to one of these airports, it might be worth considering this travel solution. Keep reading DFB for more news!
