Today, the title for the second “Avatar” film and information about the trailer was announced at CinemaCon. The movie will be called “Avatar The Way of Water,” and release in the U.S.A. on December 16.

The trailer will run before “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” when it is released on May 6, before being released online later in the week.

Here is the logline:

Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) lives with his newfound family formed on the planet of Pandora. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what was previously started, Jake must work with Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) and the army of the Na’vi race to protect their planet.

Disney will re-release the original “Avatar” film on September 23 around the world with remastered audio and sound.
