Magic Kingdom
- Happy Halfway to Halloween! Disney has announced the most triumphant return of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to the Magic Kingdom.
- Tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party go on sale May 12, and we now have pricing and dates.
- Doug Jones, who portrays Billy Butcherson in “Hocus Pocus” and the upcoming “Hocus Pocus 2,” helped announce the return of the party, as well as all of the entertainment.
- A new push pop inspired by a stretching portrait of The Haunted Mansion has materialized at Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom for “Halfway to Halloween.”
- Magic Kingdom will be closing early at 4:30 p.m. on May 3 and May 15, 2022, for the delayed Cast Member service celebrations.
EPCOT
- A temporary stage was erected overnight in the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind courtyard at EPCOT.
- The first rocky structure at Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana” continues to take shape in the World Nature neighborhood of EPCOT.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- Walt Disney Imagineers have filed a permit for the demolition of the Spirit of Aloha building and nearby costuming building at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
- Roof work continues on The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort as new Disney Vacation Club Resort Studios are created, and the building is refurbished.
New Merchandise
- In honor of “Halfway to Halloween,” Disney has released a sneak peek of some of the new Halloween merchandise that will be coming later this year to Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and shopDisney.
- A pair of “tencennial” 10th anniversary shorts have joined the 50th anniversary Vault Collection at Walt Disney World.
Disneyland Resort
- Disneyland has released concept art of the Pixar re-theme of Paradise Pier Hotel, which was announced yesterday.
- Disneyland Resort has released more details about changes coming to restaurants at Downtown Disney District.
- Disney announced this morning that several perks are returning to guests of Disneyland Resort Hotels.
- Disney shared today that they have officially broken ground on the reimagining of Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland.
- Last year’s separately-ticketed Halloween event, Oogie Boogie Bash, has been confirmed to return to Disney California Adventure this fall.
- It was just announced that America Chavez, who is being introduced in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” will debut at Avengers Campus as a meet-and-greet character.
- On top of all of today’s exciting Halloween announcements (including the return of Ooogie Boogie Bash), Disneyland Resort has released a first look at the new character costumes Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will don for the 2022 Halloween season in Disneyland Park.
- After its full location was closed to make way for a major reimagining of Downtown Disney District, Earl of Sandwich is returning to the district with a pop-up location.
- Disneyland Resort announced today that a walkway is under construction that will give guests of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel a convenient entrance to Disney California Adventure.
- The entrance and rope bridge of the former Tarzan’s Treehouse at Disneyland will be demolished during its retheming.
- Scarlet Witch, a.k.a. Wanda Maximoff, will reportedly greet Avengers Campus guests at Disney California Adventure soon in honor of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”
- Mint Julep Bar at Disneyland is serving up a new type of Mickey beignet: banana-flavored.
- Disneyland President Ken Potrock said on the D23 podcast that guests staying at Disneyland Resort hotels will soon be able to order food from select Downtown Disney District restaurants to be delivered to their rooms.
- Since the AMC Theater was completely demolished, there hasn’t been much to see beyond the colorful construction walls in Downtown Disney District. During our most recent trip, we could see an excavator.
- New concept art for the reimagining of Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort seems to reveal a new logo for the district.
- The latest piece of merchandise inspired by “Turning Red” is a tail bag charm.
- A new berries and cream churro is available at the snack cart near Hungry Bear Restaurant at Disneyland.
Tokyo Disney Resort
- Oriental Land Company (OLC) has released two plans outlining their medium-term and long-term goals through 2030 for Tokyo Disney Resort.
Disney Cruise Line
- A special character meet and greet inspired by the Sanderson sisters and other new experiences will debut on Disney Cruise Line’s Halloween on the High Seas sailings this year.
- Disney Cruise Line has announced next year’s Disney Vacation Club member exclusive sailing departing in September.
Entertainment and Media
- Disney has now released officially released the logo and plot details for the new “Haunted Mansion” film, which will be released in theaters on March 10, 2023.
- D23 has just announced a members-only Galactic Disco Night to kick off Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim next month.
The Walt Disney Company
- Erich Schwartzel with the Wall Street Journal has written a new piece about the clash between The Walt Disney Company and Florida, and the Cast Members meant to move to Florida who are caught in the middle.
