Welcome to Extinct Attractions. This week, we’ll be taking a look back at an experience that wasn’t quite an attraction, but did appear labeled on maps, so I’ll be counting it as one today. Well now there’s one more drink to choose from for a limited time! The Negroni Blanco is La Cava’s latest seasonal creation. The Negroni Blanco is made with mezcal, Luxardo bitters, and Cocchi Americano — an aperitif wine.

Their traditional “El Negroni” is made with Oaxacan style Mexican negroni with Gracias a Dios Gin, Ojo de Tigre mezcal, sweet vermouth, Aperol, Ancho Reyes liquor, applejack and coffee liquor. So it appears that this is a seasonal take on that drink.

Maleficent, Yoda, and Other Surprising Characters Disney Guests Want to Have Dinner With

Have you ever DREAMED of eating with a certain character in Disney World?!

Chef Mickey at Chef Mickey’s!

Recently, we asked our readers on Facebook an interesting question: If you could add ANY character dining to Disney World, which characters would you choose to dine with? There were some brilliant ideas in there that we NEED to discuss.

We’ve split the results into three categories: no-brainers, creative ideas, and additions/modifications. Between all three categories, we REALLY wish some of these ideas would actually happen.

No-Brainers

Some of our readers’ ideas seemed like total no-brainers! Disney, why haven’t you gotten on these ideas yet?!

Cinderella at her namesake restaurant.

While we typically enjoy our time over at Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, we can’t help but feel like Batuu was a missed opportunity for a Star Wars character dining experience! Our readers suggested everyone from Yoda to Luke and Leia to Ewoks! Who doesn’t want to dine with the heroes of the galaxy?!

No shade to DJ Rex, but we want Darth Vader!

Another reader suggested a Disney World restaurant inspired by a dining experience on the Disney Cruise Line! Many can agree that the Disney classic Tangled deserves more than bathrooms, so why not create a Snuggly Duckling-inspired restaurant? Genius!

Justice for Eugene and Rapunzel

Finally, the characters that never get enough love in Disney World: VILLAINS!! We had a TON of responses with people dreaming of a dinner with Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella, Captain Hook, Jafar, and Gaston!

You deserve your own restaurant!

You have the resources, Disney, we know it!

Creative Ideas

These next few ideas included characters we rarely talk about but would LOVE to see in Disney World!

Bring Raya to Disney World!

Lately, everyone’s had Encanto on the brain! A few readers suggested a dining experience with the Madrigal family from Encanto! (And yes, Bruno SHOULD be invited!!) Imagine dining in THE Casita. Need we say more?

©Disney

We also had a TON of votes for a Jack Sparrow/Pirates of the Caribbean-themed restaurant. We’re willing to ditch Tortuga Tavern in exchange for a new character dining meal. Who’s with us; should we stage a mutiny? And of course, Captain Barbossa will want some apples to be part of the meal.

Give the people what they want!

Finally, we had quite a few suggestions for dinner with rare characters, like Jack & Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Baymax, Meg, Mirabel, and more!

Dinner with these two would be so fun!

One reader even suggested a Figment-themed character meal! If folks are willing to wait six hours for a Figment popcorn bucket, imagine what it might be like trying to get Advanced Dining Reservations for a Figment-centric character meal!

Figment Popcorn Bucket

But he’s so cute, we can’t blame anyone for wanting more Figment representation. And as long as he’s wearing his holiday sweater during the winter months, we’d be happy to dine with Figment, if given the option!

Additions/Modifications

This last category has some of the EASIEST new dining experiences that Disney could create, mainly because most of these restaurants already exist! For example, lots of people commented that they would like to see Moana & Maui join Lilo & Stitch at ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Duh, Disney!

Such a simple, yet amazing, idea!

Someone else suggested re-theming the character meal at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall to be Frozen-themed instead! It’s in the perfect location, after all!

Give these ladies an invitation to Akershus

Guests can meet the Beast at Be Our Guest, but what about Lumiere and Cogsworth? They’re the hosts of our meal there, right?

We want MORE guests!

Finally, the idea pretty much everyone is waiting for…Tiana’s Place! If Disney doesn’t want to build an entirely new restaurant, one reader suggested a re-theme of Boatwrights in Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort. It’s the PERFECT place for it.

Sorry, Boatwrights, you’ve got to go

Boatwrights already has a menu to use for inspiration, since one of the restaurants onboard the Disney Cruise Line Wonder is Tiana’s Place! What do you think about these ideas? Got any opinions you’d like to share? Drop them in the comments! In the meantime, stay tuned for all the latest Disney news!

REVIEW: Limited Edition May ‘Flower Power’ Flavors Bloom at Salt & Straw in Disney Springs

Salt & Straw, which just opened this month at Disney Springs, will have limited edition flavors available each month. Though we’re a few days away from May, they have already posted their May menu, and we tried some of the new flavors.

Some of these options are sherbet, while some are ice cream. Note that we got them all in kids’ sizes, and larger cups are available.

Pistachio Rose Water w/ Strawberry Mochi

This one is an ice cream. You definitely get the taste of pistachio if the green doesn’t give it away.

It’s not super salty, but it does have a bit of a savory taste.

The rose water in the name might scare you, but we didn’t get much of that at all.

The strawberry mochi is slightly chewy. You get a hint of fruit with the slightly salty pistachio.

This one is a winner, and we would get it again.

Saffron & Honey w/Crystallized Flower Petals

This one is a little sweeter. It is still the consistency of ice cream but isn’t as thick as the others, maybe because of the ingredients.

We got a bit of the saffron taste. It wasn’t super spicy; you just get it as a pleasant taste on the tail end.

You also get the natural sweeteners from the honey.

There were many herb-like bits in the ice cream, but it made for an interesting texture.

They look like crumbs but aren’t crunchy.

We recommend this one, too, especially if you want some sweetness that isn’t artificial sugar or chocolate.

Rhubarb Crumble w/ Toasted Anise

This had the most classic taste of the May flavors.

It almost tastes like vanilla ice cream with swirls of strawberry and rhubarb pie.

If you’re really thinking about the toasted anise, you might notice it on the tail end, but it’s not obvious.

If you like classic strawberry ice cream, you will love this.

Jasmine Milk Tea & Almond Stracciatella

This one tastes similar to vanilla ice cream with chocolate almonds, or like bubble tea.

The jasmine tea flavor is super subtle. You just get it at the end.

This was thicker in consistency than the first three.

The small sprinkling of chocolate almonds was nice. We loved getting a bit of crunch, but wish there was more.

This was good, but the jasmine tea was too subtle.

Mathilde’s Hibiscus & Coconut Sherbet (vegan)

This sherbet has an icy consistency, which they mentioned when they gave it to us so we would know it was normal. However, that makes it feel like it was frozen for too long.

This was the weirdest of the May flavors, but not in a good way.

You get the coconut and milky flavors, but they are strange.

If you’re a fan of rose water, we would recommend this one over the pistachio one.

It’s a fun option, but probably better for those with a bolder palate.

Which one would you try? Let us know in the comments.
