PHOTOS: A Disney Springs Store Is Getting a Makeover

When it comes to shopping, there’s a little something for EVERYONE at Disney Springs.

Disney Springs

You want to buy chocolate? Visit the Ganachery. You need a fun greeting card? Head to LovePop. You want to indulge in some bath and body products? Basin is for you! There’s even a shop for soccer fans, Pele Soccer, which is looking a little different these days.

Pele Soccer is THE shop to go for if you need soccer gear. If you happen to visit it at Disney Springs now, though, you’re going to notice that it’s changed. Here’s what it looked like before:

Before

Here’s what it looks like now! What a difference! The green really pops! We also noticed that the shop even has a new logo.

What’s that sign say?

However, this vibrant makeover seems to be just the beginning. There’s a sign in front of the shop to let guests know that it’s temporarily closed while it gets a “fresh new look.”

Sign in front of Pele Soccer

We have no idea what else is changing at the store, but we’re liking what we see so far — we wonder if the inside is getting a green upgrade, too? We’ll have to keep an eye on it to see what else is changing.

So if you happen to need soccer gear, keep in mind that this store is temporarily closed — at least for the time being. We’ll let you know when it reopens, though, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

How the NEW Waffle in Disney World Is DIFFERENT From the Rest

Connections Cafe and Eatery is officially open in EPCOT!

Connections Eatery

The new quick service spot is also home to the park’s new Starbucks location, and we got to check it out when it soft-opened last week. We gave you a full tour of the Cafe as well as a full review of and look at the Eatery. One of the things we tried at both places was the new Liege Waffle, and now, we just found out some really interesting info on the treat!

The Pastry Culinary Director at Walt Disney World, Stefan Riemer, recently posted on Instagram about the new Liege Waffle at Connections Cafe and Eatery in EPCOT. We’ve tried the waffle, but now we know even more details about how it’s made!

Liege Waffle

Chef Riemer calls the Liege Waffle “a game changer” because they batch out fresh Brioche dough, press it in Pearl sugar, and then bake it in a cast iron to create that caramelized but flaky waffle. It’s then topped with fresh strawberries, vanilla whipped cream, and chocolate sauce at Connections Eatery, or you can have it all on its own at Connections Cafe.

@chefstefanriemer via Instagram

The chef then goes on to talk about how the Liege Waffle is different from a Belgian Waffle, and how they’re both different from a Mickey Waffle! He says the Liege Waffle is the most technical of the three, because the dough has to be fermented and tempered to get to the perfect texture.

@chefstefanriemer via Instagram

The different between all waffles are ingredients and the leavening, according to Chef Riemer, and the “hidden star” is a quality yeast that’s a key ingredient in Belgium, since “they brew one of the best beers in the world.” Both Liege and Belgian waffles originate from Belgium.

What a beauty

Who knew waffles could be so complex?! And, we’re glad for it, because it means we get to eat ALL of the different kinds of waffles around Disney World. We could definitely taste the caramelization of the sugar on the waffles we tried, and they are truly a delicious dessert, snack, or breakfast option. You can check out Chef Riemer’s full post below!

Characters Return to Frontierland Hoedown Happening at Magic Kingdom

Characters have returned to the Frontierland Hoedown Happening, which happens at intervals throughout the day at Magic Kingdom.

The hoedown returned last month, but characters were missing and only Cast Members participated.

The Cast Members and characters dance in the street outside Frontier Trading Post.

Cast Members are dressed in various Frontierland costumes.

Clarabelle Cow appears in the hoedown.

Wendell from Country Bears Jamboree also joined the dancing.

Chip and Dale, dressed in cowboy outfits, were also in the hoedown.

The characters and Cast Members danced by themselves for a couple of songs, then invited guests to join in.

You can catch the Frontierland Hoedown Happening throughout the day (weather permitting) at Magic Kingdom. You can also watch our video below.
