And at Disneyland Paris Walt Disney Studios Park, you can enjoy three new horrors; The Malevolent Machine, The Shaft Creatures, and The 5th Dimension! FIRST LOOK at a MagicBand+ Option Coming to Disney World This Year

If you’re a Disney World fan, you’re probably aware of what MagicBands are — you can use them to get into the parks, scan in for Lightning Lanes, and even as a room key at your Disney hotel.

Tiana MagicBand

Back in September, Disney revealed that they would be releasing NEW MagicBands known as MagicBand+. And now, they’ve shared another look at the new devices!

Disney shared a first look at the Star Wars MagicBand+ as well as a look at a Bounty Hunter mark in Galaxy’s Edge.

They new MagicBands will be debuting later this year! Disney has said that one of the new features is that guests will be able to pretend to be a bounty hunter in Galaxy’s Edge and find virtual bounties. So, it looks like some of the markings are already out in Hollywood Studios!

Galaxy’s Edge

Other features of the new bands include haptic vibrations, color-changing lights, and gesture recognition! You’ll also be able to interact with the gold character statues around all 4 Disney World parks.

New MagicBand+ coming in 2022

And, at night, the bands will sync up with the fireworks shows!

MagicBands Galore!

We’ve seen some of the designs before, but now we know what the Star Wars MagicBand+ will look like as well. We still don’t know when exactly these new MagicBands will debut, but we’ll tell you as soon as we find out! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news and updates.

Calling all ghosts and ghouls — it’s time to get ready for HALLOWEEN!

Mickey Pumpkin

Disney fans haven’t had the chance to experience Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for quite some time now (it was cancelled in 2020 and then replaced by Disney After Hours Boo Bash in 2021). But that’s all about to change! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is coming BACK to Disney World in 2022! Here are ALL the details you need to know.

Dates

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will take place in Magic Kingdom on 37 specific nights in 2022 from August 12th through October 31st, 2022.

See a special message about the return of these parties below!

You can see that October 31st is the most expensive date, priced at $199 for adults ($189 for kids 3-9). Keep in mind that these prices exclude tax.

Are There Any Discounts?

There are discounts for select guests. Specifically, Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 per ticket to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on select event nights. Be sure to check what event nights qualify.

When Can You Buy Tickets?

All guests can start buying tickets on May 18th, 2022.

But, those staying at guests of Disney World Resort hotels, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green can actually start purchasing tickets EARLY — on May 12th, 2022.

Halloween at Magic Kingdom

Disney does note that “Tickets are limited and may not be available for purchase on the day of the event (or earlier).” So if this event is a must-do for you, be sure to mark those calendars and grab those tickets as soon as you can!

Where Do I Buy Tickets?

You will be able to purchase tickets online on Disney World’s website or by calling 407-939-4240.

When Does the Event Start?

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will start at 7PM and run through midnight on the nights when it is available.

But ticket holders won’t have to wait until 7PM to get into the park! If you buy a ticket to Not-So-Scary, you’ll actually be able to enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4PM on the date of your ticket.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2017

Note that you do NOT need a separate theme park admission or theme park reservation to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. All you’ll need is that ticket for the party itself, which will let you into the park as early as 4PM and let you stay through the end of the party at midnight.

Fireworks

There WILL be a special fireworks show offered during Not-So-Scary. Specifically, party guests will get to watch Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, a Halloween-themed fireworks display which includes projections, special effects, special lighting, fireworks (of course), and Disney characters.

The fireworks display will actually be hosted by Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Not So Spooky Spectacular

This show debuted in 2019. In 2019, it featured a life-size puppet of Jack Skellington that realistically walked, talked, and scared folks like the true Pumpkin King!

Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular

During the fireworks, Mickey, Minnie,  Donald, and Goofy are swept away to a haunted house. There, they might just find dancing skeletons, ghosts, and Disney villains too!

Click here to see more about this fireworks display!

Parade

In 2022, Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade will officially be BACK for fans to enjoy. The parade will be offered twice nightly.

Boo-To-You

The parade will once again start with the Headless Horseman riding his horse down Main Street, U.S.A. WE CANNOT WAIT!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

You’ll then get to watch floats featuring Disney characters dressed in their very best Halloween outfits, see Disney villains “reign over a Fantasyland-inspired grand finale,” check out those iconic Haunted Mansion graveyard diggers, hitchhiking ghosts, and the “spectral Bride” (who will glide among “waltzing spirits”) in a Haunted Mansion section, watch as pirates sail in from Adventureland, and even dance around as Clarabelle hosts a square dance.

Boo to You

It’s a PARTY.

Click here to see more photos and details from the boo-to-you parade from 2019!

M0re Entertainment

In terms of other entertainment, fans will also get to enjoy the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular! During this stage show, you’ll get to see the Sanderson Sisters call upon their fellow villains to create the ultimate Hocus Pocus Party Potion and cast a spell on YOU!

Be sure to watch for appearances from characters like Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, and Maleficent. There will also be dancers, projections, special effects, and more featured in the show.

Hocus Pocus Villains Spooktacular

Over at Storybook Circus, kids of all ages can “boogie down” at the Disney Junior Jam. Here, you’ll find some of your favorite characters from Disney Junior shows. This was a new addition back in 2018 and will be returning this year.

Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam Dance Party 2018

Of course, trick-or-treating will be available for all guests to enjoy. Disney has said that guests will be able to “roam the trick-or-treat trails” to grab all kinds of sweet treats. The candy available will include M&M’S, SKITTLES, SNICKERS, and other Halloween favorites.

If you have a food allergy, be sure to see a Cast Member and obtain a teal-colored bag. Disney has noted that those trick-or-treating with the teal bags will get a teal token at the treat stations. These can later be redeemed at the Allergy-Friendly Centers for special treats.

I WANT CANDY!

Disney has also shared that (NEW to the party this year) guests will get a “reusable trick-or-treat bag featuring a keepsake 50th Anniversary celebration and Halloween design.” We’ll be really interested to see what these reusable bags look like!

So Much Candy!

Also new to the party this year, as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations there will be “event-exclusive step-in photo opportunities.”

Guests will also get a “Halloween-themed 50th Anniversary celebration commemorative print!”

Main Street, U.S.A.

And we can’t forget about the Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet! The Cadaver Dans will be back at it again, singing up some spooktacular tunes! You’ll generally find them over in Frontierland.

Cadaver Dans

You’ll also want to watch for Disney characters in Halloween costumes throughout the park! Characters will be available for guests to take photos with during the party.

Goofy During BOO Bash

Disney has also shared that there will, of course, be a spooktacular Halloween atmosphere throughout Magic Kingdom for guests to enjoy.

Click here to see our ultimate guide to the Not-So-Scary Party from 2019

Costumes

Guests will be able to don their favorite costumes for the event, just bear in mind that there are certain costume guidelines in place.

Here’s a look at the costume guidelines:

Be sure to review these carefully before deciding on your spooky look!

Attractions

When it comes to attractions, there will be quite a bit to look forward to. First, ride overlays are returning to a few attractions.

We’re ready for jokes again!

Specifically, Disney has noted that there will be overlays at Space Mountain, Mad Tea Party, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor.

Click here to learn about the overlays we saw at these rides back in 2019.

Other rides will also be open in the park for party guests to go on. Here’s the list of rides Disney has shared so far — of course, keep in mind that this is subject to change.

    • The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
    • Pirates of the Caribbean
    • Swiss Family Treehouse
  • Frontierland

Food

Specialty food items will be available to purchase during the party, so you’ll definitely want to keep an eye out for those! So far, Disney hasn’t revealed many details, but they have noted that there will be “sweet and savory menu items inspired by fall flavors and the Halloween season.”

The photo shared on the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary website right now seems to feature 2 black Mickey waffles in a bowl with whipped cream, candy corn, and more, but Disney hasn’t explicitly confirmed that this will make an appearance at the party.

©Disney

We can’t wait to see what special treats will be available to buy!

More

Disney has also indicated that there will be “not-so-scary souvenirs and mementos” available for party guests to purchase. Click here to get a look at the Not-So-Scary merchandise we saw back in 2019!

Throughout the party, PhotoPass photographers will be available to take your picture at a variety of spots “including Character experiences and locations with batty backdrops,” according to Disney.
