From Kim Possible to Agent P’s and now DuckTales, the World Showcase Adventure lives on. Despite Disney’s silence on the new theme for the interactive attraction, we now know it is still coming to EPCOT.
While it isn’t currently operating, the World Showcase Adventure has existed in some form for most of the last 15 years. Most recently the attraction was themed around Phineas and Ferb’s pet platypus and secret spy Perry, also known as Agent P.
Prior to Agent P, guests helped Kim Possible battle various bad guys around the World Showcase.
The DuckTales version was announced in 2019 and Agent P’s was dismantled in February 2020. After the DuckTales reboot was canceled in 2020, Disney confirmed the attraction was moving forward as planned. However, Disney has not spoken about its fate since December 2020.
The interactive scavenger hunt will invite guests to use the Play Disney Parks app to help Scrooge and his family discover exotic destinations, exciting mysteries, and maybe even a few thieves, villains and supernatural guardians of ancient artifacts.
Are you looking forward to the new World Showcase Adventure? Let us know in the comments.

It’s Dapper Day Weekendover at Disney World and guests are wearing their Sunday best to the parks! We’ve recently seen a Dapper Day pop-up shop where you can pick up all the latest fashion trends for the event and now Dapper Day is in full swing at EPCOT and we stopped by to take in all the creative outfits!
If you’re not familiar, Dapper Day is an unofficial Disney “holiday” that happens on select days of the year throughout all four parks in Disney World (and even Disneyland!) where guests are encouraged to dress up in their best vintage clothing. And, here’s a look at some of the incredible Dapper Day outfits we saw in Disney World today!
Many guests choose to dress as one of their favorite Disney characters and we couldn’t help but notice this group that had someone dressed up in a fun take on Marvel’s Scarlet Witch (aka Wanda Maximoff)!

Plus, we spotted two other guests dressed up as EPCOT’s unofficial mascots — Figment and Orange Bird.

Of course, many Dapper Day-goers were inspired by the classic characters too. Just look at these two sporting Chip ‘n’ Dale looks! They even have ears and shoulder plushes to match.

This group took a page from Pixar’s Up!

And, we even found some FOOD-inspired outfits too! Nothing pairs better than a popcorn and coke, right?

Some guests even found inspiration from more unique Disney things! For example, this couple is Disneybounding “Go Away Green” which is the color that Disney often uses to hide unsightly construction in the parks. It is a particular shade of green that is so unnoticeable and tends to make those things blend in with the background.
Disneybounding as Go Away Green!
Now, you don’t necessarily have to be at EPCOT to enjoy Dapper Day either! We also saw quite a few guests wearing their vintage Disney best at Magic Kingdom today. And, the next Dapper Day is set to be in Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 1st, 2022.

So, if you’re in the parks this weekend, be on the lookout for these fun outfits (or wear your own!) and we’ll keep you in the loop about future Dapper Day events, too, so stay tuned!

This morning, Ken Potrock, President of the Disneyland Resort, shared an emotional Instagram video looking back a year ago when the Disneyland Resort reopened after 412 days. Things to do before your upcoming Disney World trip: triple check your suitcase (because we both know you probably forgot something), plan out the ~perfect~ Magic Kingdom outfit (complete with Mickey ears, of course), and — last, but not least — find out what’s going to be CLOSED during your vacation.
Walt Disney World Railroad
Disney is consistently updating rides, attractions, and hotels, which means that sometimes these things are unavailable for a while. We keep track of all the closures and reopenings in the parks and then bring you the updates so that you’re prepared before you get to Disney World! Check out our full list here of Disney World closures in May.
Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad’s multi-year closure is continuing into May, and a reopening date isn’t quite in sight. Disney World closed this attraction for some refurbishments and because of construction over in Tomorrowland (which blocked the Railroad’s route), and they haven’t announced an end date for the closure yet.
Walt Disney World Railroad is closed
Work on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster in Tomorrowland has interrupted the Walt Disney World Railroad’s tracks, which means the train can’t run its usual route around Magic Kingdom. There’s a tunnel taking shape near this coaster, so it seems like the train will run through that when it reopens.
Walt Disney World Railroad tunnel — Late March 2022
But for now, there is still a section of tracks missing from the park, which means the train probably won’t be reopening anytime soon. We have seen some testing for the Railroad, but a Cast Member told us that the testing was mostly to keep the train’s engine in order and not a sign that the ride is close to opening.
Spotted testing!
We’ll be looking out for an opening date for the TRON coater, which could signal a return date for the Railroad as well.
We don’t have a more specific opening date yet, so if you’re hoping to catch the show on your next vacation, plan on coming later in the year for the best chance that Fantamsic! will be open. We do know that a few changes are coming to the show, including some new characters and stunts.
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Voyage of the Little Mermaid is another show that’s closed in Hollywood Studios, but this one does not have a reopening date yet.
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Disney hasn’t released any updates about the attraction’s closure or possible reopening, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as more information is available.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom has some fun shows, like Celebration of Festival of the Lion King and Feathered Friends in Flight. But one show in this park has been closed for a while: Finding Nemo: The Musical. This show is actually scheduled to reopen this summer (in 2022), but it’ll look DIFFERENT when it returns.
Finding Nemo: The Musical is getting some changes!
The new show will be called Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…And Beyond!, and it will be based on the sequel to Finding Nemo, Finding Dory. You can check out a first look at some of the changes here! Some fan-favorite songs will still be featured in the new show, like “Go With the Flow.”
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is open for guests, but visitors might see some construction going on at this hotel during their stay. That’s because 200 new DVC Resort Studios are being built in the Big Pine Key building.
Construction at Disney’s Grand Floridian — Late April 2022
These new rooms are subtly themed to Mary Poppins Returns, with art that nods to the film and other details like birds on the chandeliers and umbrella shapes on the lampshades.
Grand Floridian Studio Preview
DVC members and other guests can now book their stay in these new rooms, and the rooms are scheduled to be open in June 2022.
But the Grand Floridian isn’t the only hotel getting some new DVC rooms. An entire new DVC building is being constructed at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Construction at Disney’s Polynesian Resort
The new DVC villas are scheduled to open in late 2024, and they’re “inspired by the early concepts for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.” These rooms will sit on the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon.
The Magnolia Golf Course is the largest resort golf course in Disney World. But from April 28th, 2022, through May 8th, 2022, only holes 1 through 9 will be open (the course has 18 holes). From May 9th on, the entire course will be closed.
That’s it for our roundup of everything that’s scheduled to be closed in Disney World this May. Keep an eye out for temporary closures as well — technical difficulties, bad weather, or other issues can cause some rides to shut down for a while in the parks. You can see real-time closures on the My Disney Experience app. And stay tuned with DFB for more of the latest updates as you get ready for your upcoming vacation!
