Natacha Rafalski, the President of Disneyland Paris has shared some new images from within the construction site of Avengers Campus at Walt Disney Studios Park. Rafalski’s comment was as follows: “I just came back from the Avengers Campus site and let me tell you, it’s really coming together! My management team and I met up with @WaltDisneyImagineering Marvel Portfolio […]
In terms of rides, hotels, and snacks, Disney World has a little something for everyone. Lately, we’ve been seeing more food options for plant-based eaters in the parks, but we just found a vegan dish that we think EVERYONE would want to try.
Hollywood Studios
We’re heading to an unexpected spot to find the newest plant-based snack. This restaurant is usually known for theme park staples, like burgers and chicken tenders. But after the lunch we just had there, we can honestly say that the real reason to come here is the TOFU!
We mentioned before that Backlot Express is typically known for more basic theme park food options. This quick-service spot has cheeseburgers, pulled pork burgers, chicken tenders, and Cuban sandwiches on the menu. The fast service and large dining room make it a popular spot for guests to come in and relax during a busy day. So how does their new vegan option measure up?
Backlot Express
The new Teriyaki Tofu Bowl is made with Seasoned Jasmine Rice, Marinated Tofu, Yuzu-pickled Edamame, Carrots, Cucumber, and Onions, and it’s all drizzled with House-made Lemon-Tahini-Chipotle Vinaigrette and Sesame Seeds. You can get it for $12.99. The ingredients remind us a lot of a poké bowl, and our reporter (who is a plant-based eater) said that it tasted exactly like one! They were very excited about this new dish since they hadn’t seen a vegan poké bowl before.
It’s just like poke bowls!
Specifically, our reporter said that the bowl gave them everything they missed about normal poké, just with plant-based ingredients. The veggies were super fresh and delicious (although the edamame didn’t really taste pickled). And the rice was a little bit sweet and perfectly cooked, just like good sushi rice usually is.
Super tasty
The tofu was super flavorful, and the vinaigrette drizzle over the entire dish really brought a whole other level of flavor to the dish. It tasted just like the sauce on regular poké bowls.
Very good tofu
Our only complaint? We needed a dish like this in another Disney World park! There are already some great vegan options in Hollywood Studios, and we would’ve loved to see this awesome snack come to a different park that needs more help in the plant-based department. That being said, we’re still happy that this dish exists and we’ll be back for seconds again.
Loved the veggies!
If you’re a plant-based eater or just a fan of tofu, we think you’ll love this snack! If you like simpler flavors, you might want to pass on this one — between the tofu, veggies, and sauce, there was a lot going on. Head to Backlot Express if you want to give the Teriyaki Tofu Bowl a try. And keep following DFB for more reviews of the newest eats in Disney World.

Black Tap Anaheim is a restaurant at Downtown Disney in Disneyland Resort that serves burgers and over-the-top milkshakes. And in the month of May, Black Tap has some specials that you’ll only be able to try for a few weeks!
Hello, Black Tap!
First of all, there are two Star Wars-themed offerings in honor of May the 4th. You can try the Light Classic Shake made with an electric blue vanilla shake, silver and blue galaxy sprinkles, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle, OR you could order the Dark Classic Shake made with a wild cherry shake, red and black sprinkles, whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and a cherry.
When we say their shakes are over the top, we mean it!
Besides these two specials from across the galaxy, they’ll have the Thai Coconut Curry Chicken Burger for $23. It’s made with spiced ground chicken, green coconut curry sauce, chilis, cilantro, toasted cashews, coconut lime aioli, and served with a side of fries. To match that coconut flavor, try ordering the May-exclusive Coconut Macaroon Classic Shake for $14.

Animation Academy remained open while the short refurbishment took place.
The street is now clear of construction.
Walls do remain up on either side of the Hollywood Studios archway.
These construction walls seem to be for basic refurbishment projects in the area.

“Bang! Boom! Pow!” These words are like poetry to generations of superhero comic fans. These pieces of pulp art were first popularized in the United States in the 1930s, as pillars of strength, perfection, and morality. They were also fairly one-dimensional in personality. But then two future titans of comics emerged in New York City, […]

Confetti cake with blue sopapilla filling, cream cheese glaze, and electrical parade chocolate decor
This tastes like a celebration!
The sopapilla filling sounds adventurous but ends up being hard to differentiate from the rest of the cake.
The yellow icing and chocolate medallion are best left as decor. Their sugary sweetness doesn’t gel well with the richness of the cream cheese.
The actual confetti cake and cream cheese were delicious.
This makes for an excellent themed dessert.
Will you be trying it? Let us know in the comments.
