According to an exclusive from Variety, Disney+ has cast a lead role in the upcoming “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series. Walker Scobell, best known for his role in “The Adam Project” on Netflix, will play the titular hero.
Series author Rick Riordan confirmed that the first season would follow the first book’s plot in the series. The opening season will have eight episodes.
The character of Percy Jackson is a demigod diagnosed with ADHD and Dyslexia. He is 12 years old in the first story, “The Lightning Thief.”
