If you’re heading to Disney World this weekend, you might want to pack a pocho…and an umbrella…and maybe a canoe.
We’ve already seen hints of some incoming bad weather in Disney World over the last couple of days with more cloud cover and darker skies. It looks like the storms could get pretty bad this weekend, so check out the details here and be sure to plan ahead!
Meteorologist Christ Gilson tweeted today that we can expect severe storms in Orlando on Saturday afternoon and evening (April 2nd).

Friday will likely see some pockets of sunshine with scattered showers, and more thunderstorms are expected on Friday afternoon and evening.
On Saturday, there’s a high chance of severe storms in Orlando. Fox Orlando has declared Saturday afternoon and evening a “Storm Alert Day.” They’re saying that Saturday could see “heavy rainfall, lightning, possible damaging wind gusts, hail and an isolated tornado.” As of now, these storms are expected to hit after 12PM on Saturday.
Meteorologists are expecting that the most severe storms should pass by Orlando around 3 or 4PM, although there could still be storms in the early evening as well. By mid-evening, they’re predicting “quiet skies.”
So if you’re heading into the parks this weekend, don’t forget to pack your poncho! And be sure to take shelter if the storms do get serious. Cast Members should be able to direct you to the nearest shelter if you’re caught out in the rain.
