REVIEW: If Nostalgia Had a Taste, It Would Be This Disney Snack

There are some foods that just have the ability to transport you back in time.

We’ve had some epic treats at Jolly Holiday!

Much like Anton Ego (the food critic from Pixar’s Ratatouille), who is immediately taken back to his childhood home at his first bite of the titular dish, certain foods are just nostalgic. Well, if you grew up eating bologna sandwiches, buckle up — Disneyland’s snack is about to put you in a time machine.

We recently tried a treat over in Disneyland Park that our 8-year-old selves would be THRILLED about! Its the Fried Bologna Sandwich over at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe! We’ve actually had a Fried Bologna Sandwich in Disneyland before — this one reminded us of a similar sandwich we had at Carnation Cafe wayyyy back in 2018.

Fried Bologna Sandwich

The Fried Bologna Sandwich at Jolly Holiday is $10.49, and is made of a toasted white bread sandwich piled high with fried bologna, Monterey jack cheese, pickles, mayonnaise, and mustard. There’s also a side of crispy and crunchy house-made potato chips.

What Do You Think?

This sandwich tasted exactly like childhood! The bologna reminded us of a hot dog (not necessarily in a bad way) — and the pickles and mustard did a good job of cutting through the saltiness of the meat. Basically, think of it as a hot dog sandwich. Might sound a little gross, but it was actually pretty good!

This is totally the adult version of this classic childhood meal.

Head on over to Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in Disneyland Park if you want a true taste of nostalgia — and don’t forget to stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news from the parks and beyond!
