Disney World is constantly releasing new treats — sometimes, it’s hard to keep up.
But we DO keep up, and when we spot new treats, we’re right there trying them out and getting you reviews. Although we’ve been eating a lot of Easter snacks lately (so many bunny butts, carrot cake goodies, and more), we spotted three NEW candy-related treats today — and we tried them out!
These new treats were at Main Street Confectionery (we bet you’re imagining that building’s wonderful smell right now, aren’t you?). First up is the Snickers Pound Cake. Yep — that’s what we said. SNICKERS. POUND. CAKE. It’s a vanilla pound cake topped with caramel syrup, chocolate drizzle, crumbled nougat, and peanut pieces.
This is literally a Snickers bar in cake form and that’s exactly what it tastes like. The toppings add a lot of flavor to the simple pound cake beneath — we’re glad the cake itself didn’t have too much going on. The pound cake was a little dry, though, but we appreciated that it wasn’t too sweet (the toppings take care of the sugary parts of this snack). If you love Snickers, GET this for $5.29.
Then we got to try a Dove Chocolate Rugelach for $4.99, This is made with buttery dough that is rolled with chocolate and baked. Um…OH, YEAH. It almost has a cookie-like consistency, and the Dove chocolate is rich and sweet.
The Rugelach is VERY rich and you’ll want to have a beverage handy to wash it all down with. We think milk would be an excellent choice. Note that this is a darker chocolate, so you’ll need to like dark chocolate to truly appreciate the flavor here.
Finishing out our trio of sweet treats is the Three Musketeers Quesito for $4.99. A quesito is actually a Puerto Rican pastry twist filled with cream cheese. This pastry twist is filled with Cream Cheese and drizzled with Chocolate. This is the lightest of the three snacks, but equally as delicious. The chocolate was also quite good!
Let’s take a look inside, too — see how wonderful flaky that pastry is? However, that does mean you’ll end up with lots of crumbs, so have napkins ready. The cream cheese filling is also delicious. We would say, though, that because this is so full of air, we felt it wasn’t entirely worth the price.
These treats are all available RIGHT NOW, so be sure to drop by the Main Street Confectionery the next time you’re in Magic Kingdom!
We’ll be sure to let you know when we find more new snacks, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
