Over the years, Disney World has added more and more plant-based and vegan dishes to its restaurant menus, and we are HERE for it!
We recently tried a plant-based meatball sub over at PizzeRizzo in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we’ve had a vegan “lobster roll” at Rosie’s All-American Cafe, and even a jackfruit gyro at EPCOT! To say that Disney is getting adventurous with their plant-based options would be an understatement, and today we’re back with another review of a NEW plant-based item!
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort has just reopened in Disney World, making it the final resort on property to open back up after the pandemic-related closures in 2020.
We popped on over to see if there was anything new since our last visit, and we were ecstatic to see there was a plant-based option in the grab-and-go section of the End Zone Food Court — the Plant-Based Tuna Sandwich!
According to the End Zone Food Court menu, this dish is made with Plant-based Tuna Salad, “Mayonnaise,” Arugula, Cucumbers, Pickled Onions, and Radishes served on Multigrain Bread.
Our plant-based reporter shared that this was a really delicious sandwich! The tuna salad didn’t necessarily taste like fish to us, but it was very good. There’s some sort of herbaceous dressing in the tuna salad which really makes the whole sandwich.
The pickled onion flavor adds a nice zing, and with the cucumber, radish, and lettuce gave this otherwise-mushy sandwich a nice crunchy snap. If you’re looking for a really fishy tasting plant-based tuna, this isn’t it — the tuna salad was almost an afterthought, and the bread was soggy around the edges on the sandwich we had.
For $9.99, this is an excellent option for plant-based eaters on the go who are looking for a light, fresh sandwich. Hop on over to Disney’s All-Star Resort to try it for yourself, and don’t forget to stay tuned to DFB for more Disney food reviews!
