Walt Disney World

Magic Kingdom

• We celebrated Earth Day with new merchandise celebrating the Main Street Electrical Parade’s 50th anniversary, a new Loungefly backpack, and a dirty-looking but tasty dessert! Check out our April 22nd photo report from the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!
• The white canopy has been fully installed above TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom.
• During today’s noon Festival of Fantasy parade at Magic Kingdom, Tiana and Naveen replaced Belle and the Beast on the front of the first float. We checked on the 3:00 p.m. parade to see if it was the same story.
• Earlier this month, construction walls were erected next to Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. at Magic Kingdom, blocking the walkway that will eventually lead to TRON Lightcycle / Run. Work has since begun on the side of the building.
• The next big step in TRON Lightcycle / Run’s race to the finish line is about to begin at the Magic Kingdom, as permits have been filed for show set fabrication and installation.

EPCOT

• The first faux rock work is visible at the construction site of Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana” in EPCOT.
• There’ll be even more star power at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind when it opens at EPCOT, as Terry Crews has been revealed to play a role in the attraction.
• Cast Member previews are underway for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, and Disney has released a new video showing off the first reactions to the new attraction.

New Merchandise

• Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde from “Zootopia” have arrived at Walt Disney World in Disney nuiMOs form.
• Limited release Muppet*Vision 3D Wishables plush are now available at Walt Disney World.
• Several new 50th anniversary items, including a Spirit Jersey and long-sleeved t-shirt, have arrived at Walt Disney World as part of the EARidescent Shimmer collection.
• Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is about to celebrate its 5th anniversary, and there are plenty of ways to celebrate with a ton of new merchandise!
• A special new Rubik’s Cube celebrating 50 years of Walt Disney World has spun into the parks.

Other Walt Disney World News

• Walt Disney World has revealed all of the treats that will be available this week and into the future in honor of the halfway mark to Halloween.
• Starting May 9, 2022, Magnolia Golf Course at Walt Disney World will be closed for a major renovation. Scott Sanders with the Disney Cruise Line Blog shared a rough composite of the current course with the renovation plans layered on top.
• A new FCC filing gives us a closer look at the charging device and interior construction of the upcoming MagicBand+.

Disneyland Resort

• Disney Parks is celebrating the halfway mark to Halloween, and the Disneyland Resort has now announced two Halloween-themed treats that will be available for a limited time this week.
• Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite is returning next month in time for “Star Wars” Day and the Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. The full menu of “Star Wars”-inspired food items has now been released.
• Another delightful new treat inspired by the Main Street Electrical Parade has arrived at Disneyland Park. Guests can get this snail-inspired candy apple at Candy Palace.
• Celebrate the return of Main Street Electrical Parade to Disneyland with the new “parade confetti” bundt cake, available at Plaza Inn in Disneyland.
• Construction walls have been removed from outside Animation Academy on Hollywood Boulevard at Disney California Adventure.
• A Disney nuiMOs plush of Moana has sailed into Disney Showcase at Disneyland.
• As mysterious as the Force itself, a new kiosk has been erected next to Star Wars Trading Post in the Downtown Disney District.
• Two new tank tops are available at Disneyland Resort in time for the warmer weather.
• A new rainbow-patterned Winnie the Pooh mug is now available at Disneyland Resort.
• Last month, construction went vertical on the new Disney Vacation Club tower at Disneyland Hotel. Right now, there’s not much to see of construction other than a large crane, but let’s take a look around the hotel.

Disneyland Paris

• Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris, shared a new look at Avengers Campus, set to open this summer at Walt Disney Studios Park.

Entertainment and Media

• Sony has just announced a new Spider-Man spinoff centering around El Muerto. The titular character will be played by music artist Bad Bunny.

Disney+

• New stills featuring the Grand Inquisitor and Obi-Wan Kenobi in “Obi-Wan Kenobi” have been released by Total Film.
• We now know “Star Wars: Andor” was originally supposed to be five seasons but will probably only have three.

The Walt Disney Company

• Thursday, April 28, is the official halfway mark to Halloween, and Disney Parks has announced several offerings for the day.
