World of Color Now Has a Virtual Queue in Disneyland Resort!

Since reopening after the 2020 closure, Disneyland Resort has been missing a BIG chunk of its evening entertainment.

But now, several popular nighttime shows are BACK at the California parks! Both Main Street Electrical Parade and the Disneyland Forever fireworks have returned to Disneyland Park, and World of Color is back at Disney California Adventure. We told you that World of Color would be using a virtual queue system upon its return, so now that it’s back, we had to go check it out!

If you aren’t familiar with how a virtual queue works, it’s essentially just a way to reserve your spot in line without physically joining the line (until Disney tells you to return). Registration for the World of Color virtual queue currently begins at 12:00PM and you DO need to have entered either Disneyland (with a Park Hopper ticket) or Disney California Adventure to join. Be sure to download the Disneyland app ahead of time so that you’re ready to go when the queue opens!

You can find the option to join the virtual queue in the Tip Board tab of the Disneyland App. Last night, we checked the app around 7:15PM and the virtual queue spots were all gone, so be sure to snag one early once they open at 12:00PM if this is a must-have for you!

Guests who are able to join the virtual queue will receive a notification when the viewing area for their selected showtime has opened, and they can then enter through one of two entrances. Guests without a spot in the virtual queue are instructed to check with a Cast Member in the Paradise Bay area before showtime for information on walk-up viewing options.

We did see some pretty intense crowds on the first day of the return of World of Color, which goes to show that joining the virtual queue could be super helpful if you have your heart set on getting a view of the show!

In other words, while joining the virtual queue isn’t required for admission into the viewing area for World of Color, it is HIGHLY recommended, so better to be safe than sorry! Be sure to follow along with DFB as we continue to share updates on the return of Disneyland Resort’s nighttime spectaculars (including Fantasmic! coming up on May 28th).
