Summer is going to be here before we know it!
If you’re heading to Disney World this summer, you might be wondering about all the changes that are taking place throughout the parks. Which attractions are open? Are there any hotels that are closed? Wonder no more, because we’re bringing you the biggest construction updates from the week!
Magic Kingdom
TRON: Lightcycle Run
We haven’t caught any additional vehicle testing over at TRON, but it looks like more and more equipment has been moved in to help make way for additional features. Hopefully this might speed up the process and we can experience this attraction sooner than later!
Of course, Disney hasn’t shared an opening date, but we’ll keep an eye out and let you know about any updates!

Walt Disney World Railroad
Due to the construction on TRON, the beloved Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for over 3 years! We hadn’t seen many updates on the refurbishment taking place on the railroad, but this week we spotted some tracks being laid!
We also saw more tracks being put down over near Fantasyland Station as well.
An opening timeframe hasn’t been shared just yet, but it will most likely reopen around the time TRON does.
Center Street
There’s one less seating area available in Magic Kingdom, as the back of Center Street (behind Crystal Arts) has been blocked off.
We’re not totally sure what the deal here is, but we’ll update you if we learn more.
EPCOT
Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana
Things are slowly taking shape over at the Moana-inspired attraction coming to EPCOT’s World Nature neighborhood, and it looks like more rocks are being added daily.
Disney is keeping quiet on when we might be able to experience this immersive, water-based attraction, so stay tuned for more updates!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Toy Story Mania Gift Shop
While guests are still being rerouted through a detour when exiting Toy Story Mania, we noticed that part of the queue decor had been painted over on our last visit!
We could still see a little bit of the original design peeking through, so we’re not sure just what this big box is going to be transformed into!

Disney Resorts
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
From the outside looking…outside…progress is moving pretty slowly at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort’s new DVC Villas. The Big Pine Key building is being converted into 200 new DVC studio rooms.
Hopefully things are moving along a little bit more quickly on the inside, as the villas are scheduled to be completed later this summer!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is also being renovated to include new DVC villas, restaurants, and even new recreation offerings! So far, several areas of the resort are walled off.
For now, Disney has shared some concept art of the NEW Polynesian building.
