Two more actors have joined the upcoming Disney+ series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” according to Variety.
Aryan Simhadri (Disney+’s “Cheaper by the Dozen”) has been cast as Grover Underwood, a satyr (half-human, half-goat) disguised as a 12 year-old boy who often puts the needs of his friends over his own, and isn’t afraid to get into a fight to protect them.
Meanwhile, Leah Sava Jeffries (“Empire”) will play Annabeth Chase, a daughter of Greek goddess Athena who has trained at Camp Half-Blood for five years, and is eager to return to the human world.
Simhadri and Jeffries join Walker Scobell, who was cast last month as the titular hero. Back in April, Rick Riordan, author of the “Percy Jackson” book series, revealed that the first season of the long-awaited show will consist of eight episodes.
Variety also provided a description of the first season, which is based on “The Lightning Thief,” the first book in the series:
The live-action show tells the fantastical tale of the titular 12-year-old modern demigod (Scobell), who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.
