It’s a sad Friday the 13th for horror fans at Universal Studios Florida as the Universal Studios’ Classic Monsters Café has permanently closed.
Universal Orlando Resort confirmed the closure this morning, stating: After more than 20 years of serving dreadfully-delicious quick-service menu offerings, Monster’s Café in Universal Studios Florida permanently closed in the spring of 2022 to make way for a new dining experience.
Through the window, the restaurant is unchanged.
The normal “closed” sign is up, but the venue will not reopen.
The Café had several dining rooms, each themed to different Classic Monsters. The main room where the service counters are located has a laboratory theme. In the background of the photo above, you can see part of the “Rita” in the Creature From the Black Lagoon room.
Photos and props from the movies were on display.
The restaurant had semi-recently undergone a menu renovation and begun serving skillet-style meals with chicken, ribs, and more.
Stay tuned for a full farewell from UPNT with a detailed tour of the restaurant.
