Disney has released lots of recipes to celebrate various holidays. From a sweet potato appetizer for Kwanzaa to villain-inspired recipes that would be great for Halloween, there’s a lot to pick from!
Disney has also released a special recipe for those who may have celebrated Passover this year. Passover is a Jewish holiday and to celebrate Passover, Mickey and Minnie shared a recipe for Matzo! Even if it’s not Passover though, you can whip up some Matzo just to enjoy as a little treat. Here’s how to do it!
Matzo (or Matzah) is bread that has not risen. It’s typically eaten during Passover.
Mickey Mouse shared this recipe on his Instagram page (yes, really!) so let’s go over all the steps.
Ingredients
- 2 cups shmura or all-purpose flour
- 3/4 – 1 cup cold water
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Directions
Begin by preheating your oven to 550ºF.
Then, combine your flour and water in a large bowl.
Knead the ingredients until the flour and water are well-mixed and you have a ball of dough.
Next, place the dough on a flat surface and use a rolling pin to roll it out to about 1/2 an inch thick.
Then, cut the dough into four equal-sized pieces and use a fork to lightly poke the dough until it has holes throughout.
Lastly, place the four pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes. It should be slightly bubbly and golden in parts! It’s best served immediately.
You can choose to eat your Matzo at a Seder or as you would any bread and add whatever toppings you’d like!
Big thanks to Mickey and Minnie for such an easy-to-follow recipe! We hope you all enjoy your matzo, and always check back to DFB for more fun Disney recipes!
