I recently had the privilege to spend a night at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. My only regret is that I did not plan a day to explore the hotel! 

For some background information, the resort is relatively new. It is considered a moderate hotel with an average price of $240 a night (according to Disney’s website). It is themed like an extravagant Spanish getaway with spacious rooms and an amazing pool. 

Here are some of my top takeaways from this hotel:

The Feel vs. The Price

This was huge for me. When I walked into the hotel lobby, I thought I had gone to the wrong hotel. Surely this was too nice for what I paid? But no! The Coronado Springs Resort is designed to feel fancier than a moderate resort. As an added bonus, the main lobby where you check in is located in Gran Destino Tower, which is the location of the resort’s more luxurious rooms. 

I was quickly checked into my room for the night. I stayed in a standard room, which consisted of two queen beds and a separate bathroom. It was more than enough room for my friend and me for the night. We were even greeted with this fun message on the television:

I personally found this very exciting at the end of the night, and I am sure many kids would be thrilled to see their last name on the TV. This made the room feel more luxurious than I expected!

Theming

As far as Disney hotels go, this one is not overly Disney-fied like the Art of Animation or the Pop Century Resort. However, there are nice little touches that give tribute to the Three Caballeros, who star in the water ride in the Mexico pavilion in Epcot. The Spanish influences, though, are all over the hotel, and it really is a beautiful property. Everything from the music to the plants makes you feel like you are in Spain. 

Walking Distance

This is a con to the resort, though it may just be my opinion. I found the walk from the standard rooms to the restaurants to be a little lengthy. It took my group about ten minutes to walk over to breakfast because of the massive lake in the center of the resort. It was stunning, and I did not really mind the walk, but it was noticeable. Families with little kids or people who don’t love a lot of walking should take note of this and maybe drive over to breakfast. It is also somewhat far from all the parks. Hollywood Studios is about a 15-minute drive from the resort.

So, the big question… 

Would I stay here again?

ABSOLUTELY!

Like I said at the beginning, my biggest regret is that I didn’t plan a day to spend solely at the hotel. It was in the beginning of January, so it was a little chilly to use the pool (at least, too chilly for me!), but it looked incredible as well. There is a Mayan temple with a waterslide…it looks so fun! And I felt like I was in one of the deluxe hotels for half the price! So yes, I am eagerly anticipating the day when I can return to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.
