Marvel’s “Echo” starring Alaqua Cox has begun production in Atlanta. Disney also released an image from set of Cox in costume.
Cox debuted as Maya Lopez a.k.a. Echo in “Hawkeye” last year. In her spinoff series, she will leave New York City for her hometown, where she reconnects with her roots and ends up at the center of a new crisis.
The series features a mostly indigenous cast that includes Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, Graham Greene, and Zahn McClarnon. Indigenous directors Sydney Freeland and Catriona McKenzie are leading the series. It is executive produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Stephen Broussard, Richie Palmer, Marion Dayre, and Jason Gavin.
Etan and Emily Cohen were previously attached to write the series but appear to no longer be involved.
