While Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is set to begin widespread guest previews tomorrow, May 8th, beginning with annual passholders, reports from media previews and those for Club 33 members indicate that the attraction is suffering from significant periods of unplanned downtime.
While it is not uncommon for new attractions to experience some hiccups in their operations, the issues are not a good sign for those hoping to ride during scheduled preview events between now and the official opening of the attraction on May 27th.
Rumors point to the virtual queue system being deemed a necessity given how unreliable the attraction has been this early on. There will be no standby queue when the ride opens, but of course, you can simply pay for a Lightning Lane to avoid the boarding group ordeal, and Disney certainly hopes guests will.
It is not completely clear what issues the attraction is running into, but you may want to keep your fingers crossed if you have a preview of EPCOT’s newest attraction coming up soon. We will be attending the first annual pass holder previews on Sunday and will bring you the latest information as we have it.
