It’s SUMMERTIME, people! Okay, well, summer doesn’t officially start til the end of June, but c’mon — most people think of summer starting after Memorial Day, right?
We’re ready for the summer!
We know Florida certainly does! Those hot summer temperatures are already hanging out in Central Florida, especially at Disney World. And, now is the time when we know a tonnnn of you are going on your summer vacations, because the crowds are ramping up in the parks, too. But, there’s still a lot of fun to be had, so let’s take a look at the BEST things to do in Disney World in June!
Beat the Heat
As we just said, it is HOT in Florida, especially in June! You have to be prepared for the heat, especially if you’re not used to it. Oh, and don’t forget about that lovely southern humidity (do NOT underestimate the humidity!). So, one of the best things you can do this month in Disney World is to be prepared for it to be hot, and find ways to cool off.
It can get HOT in the parks!
When it comes to being prepared, there are a ton of things you can do! Make sure to stay extra hydrated, wear sunscreen (and reapply it!), wear protective gear like hats and sunglasses, wear breathable clothing, and take breaks in the air conditioning when you can. Do NOT push yourself — you don’t want to be passing out in Disney World.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
There are some great things you can bring with you to help with all of this! Cooling towels, portable fans, sunscreen, and insulated water bottles are great items to keep with you to stay cool. The heat can also cause some annoying problems like blisters and chaffing, so bring some band aids or mole skin with you for blisters and a chafing stick to help with that issue.
Another great way to cool down while you’re at Disney World is by taking a break from the theme parks and going to your hotel pool or over to a water park!
Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
Right now, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is open, and they have some great slides, a wave pool, and awesome snacks!
Enjoy the Last of EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival
EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival has been going on since March and it ends on July 4th, so you have ALL of June to enjoy it! Head on over to Farmer’s Feast, where the final of the 3 rotating menus is available for the month, including a very interesting watermelon dessert.

Or, check out some of our best of the fest picks! Spend your day trying out the Poppy Flower Margarita, BLT Scone, Coconut Tres Leches Cake, Shrimp and Grits, and more. Try a few dishes or make a whole meal out of it!

The Garden Rocks Concert Series is also still going on, and there are some great artists coming in June! Simple Plan, the Plain White T’s, and Daughtry will all be playing this month, and the performances are included with your EPCOT admission.
FINALLY Go on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind just opened up so you can FINALLY go on the new Marvel ride in June! We’ve already been on the ride several times and have a spoiler free review for you, advice about motion sickness, and a look at the queue.
Cosmic Rewind
The ride does not have a standby line, it is only available by using a virtual queue or buying an individual Lightning Lane. You have to have a Park Pass Reservation for EPCOT in order to join the virtual queue, which opens up at 7AM and 1PM each day. It also opens up again at 6PM for people who have access to Extended Evening Hours on the nights they take place at EPCOT.

This new coaster is one of the longest indoor coasters in the world and features a reverse launch as well as vehicles that spin all the way around! Get ready to help save the galaxy.
