Twin Moons Eclipse Shirts and Pin Land at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland

Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite in 2020 was set to celebrate Twin Moons Eclipse Day. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic closure shuttered the park in March 2020 and the event planned for August 27, 2020 never materialized. But now, with the park reopened and Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite resuming, the merchandise that was presumably slated for the 2020 event has finally been released! We found a pair of new shirts and a pin celebrating the Twin Moons Eclipse at Creature Corner in the Marketplace of Black Spire Outpost at Disneyland.

Twin Moons Eclipse Pin — $19.99

This Twin Moon Eclipse pin is dated 2020 in Aurebesh (tech) numbers. This was likely made up for the initial event and not reprinted with the proper date.

It is limited edition of 2500.

Twin Moons Eclipse Ladies T-Shirt — $36.99

This v-neck shirt is a soft grey with the logo and verbiage running down the left side.

On the back, it is dated 2022 in Aurebesh (tech) numbers.

Twin Moons Eclipse Men’s T-Shirt — $36.99

This vibrant red shirt for men features the logo more prominently and the verbiage running down the left side of the body.

It is also dated 2022 in Aurebesh (tech) numbers.

These shirts and pin were announced just the other day at Star Wars Celebration and became first available at the final Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite. They are now available in the park to the general public.

Will you be adding the Twin Moons Eclipse merchandise to your collection? Let us know in the comments below.

Disney Recipe: The Sweet Treat ‘Alice in Wonderland’ Fans Will Want to Make at Home!

Get ready to name the movie, okay? *clears throat* “OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!”

The Queen of Hearts in Disneyland!

Any guesses? That’s right, this famous line is from Disney’s Alice in Wonderland! Alice in Wonderland fans can already pick up some awesome merch themed to the movie, like a designer bag collection and Minnie ears, as well as a number of other items! But now Disney has released a recipe that fans will want to bake right away.

Ready to make The Queen of Hearts Tarts Recipe (as shared by D23)?! Let’s go!

©Disney

Ingredients

Tarts

  • 1 package pre-rolled frozen pie crust (in sheets)
  • Strawberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • ½ teaspoon gelatin powder
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 stick (½ cup) butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 6 teaspoons milk
  • ½ tablespoon cocoa powder
  • Red food coloring

After gathering your ingredients, you will need the following equipment:

  • 12-hole muffin tin
  • Baking sheet
  • Rolling pin
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter
  • Circular cookie cutter

Queen of Hearts

Now let’s get baking!

Directions

Step 1: Prepare the Tart Shells

  1. Let the pie crust sheets thaw as instructed on the package. Once thawed, preheat your oven to the temperature listed on your package, and spray your muffin tin with nonstick spray (or grease with butter).
  2. Roll out the crust dough to about half of its current thickness. Cut out circles of dough using a circular cookie cutter or a glass and gently press each circle into your muffin tin. Trim any excess hanging over the edge of the tin with a knife. Use a cookie cutter to cut out 12 heart-shaped pieces with the extra dough.
  3. Prick the base of each tart shell with a fork. Line a cookie tray with parchment paper and lay your hearts on it. Bake the tarts and hearts for around 10-12 minutes, or until golden. Keep in mind that the hearts may bake quicker than the shells and may need to be removed before. Keep a close eye on the oven so you can check on that. Allow both sets of pastries to cool.

Step 2: Prepare the Mock Cream Filling

  1. While the tarts and hearts are baking, add the gelatin powder to the cold water and allow it to bloom for 5 minutes. In a small saucepan, mix the sugar and milk over low heat until the sugar fully dissolves.
  2. Add the gelatin (once it’s ready) to the saucepan and stir until it’s fully dissolved. Then, remove from the heat and allow the mixture to reach room temperature.
  3. With a stand mixer or handheld beater, beat the butter and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Then, slowly add the cooled milk mixture, and mix constantly until it’s all fully combined.

Step 3: Prep the Icing

  1. Mix the powdered sugar and milk with a fork or spoon until smooth in a small bowl. Pour half the mixture into a separate bowl.
  2. In one of the bowls, add 5-10 drops of red food coloring and mix to combine. Continue to add food coloring and mix until your desired shade is reached.
  3. In the second bowl, add the cocoa powder and mix. If your mixture becomes too thick, add an additional ¼ teaspoon of milk.
  4. Spoon each of the icings into its own piping bag or plastic sandwich bag. Cut the tip off the bag very close to the corner, creating a small outlet for your icing.

Step 4 (Final Step!): Assemble the Tarts

  1. Add a spoonful of strawberry jam to each tart shell and smooth all over the bottom.
  2. Add the mock cream (by the spoonful) until the shell is full. Smooth the top over with a spatula.
  3. Carefully pipe the chocolate icing onto half of each tart, and pipe your red icing on the other half.
  4. Take your pie crust hearts and place one in the middle of each tart.
  5. Before serving, allow the icing to set for at least 15 minutes.

You’ve done it! Now you have beautiful tarts you can show off to your friends and family. And if you love Disney recipes, stay tuned to DFB — we’ll keep you updated on all the ones we find!

VIDEO: Go Behind-the-Scenes of Disney’s BRAND NEW Fireworks Show!

While we report a lot on what’s happening in Disney World and Disneyland, there are other Disney Parks around the world that have their own events going on!

©Hong Kong Disneyland

Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disneyland are all the Disney resorts located outside of North America, and there’s always plenty going on over there! Hong Kong Disneyland reopened again last month and has now given us an inside look at their new fireworks show!

Next month, the new fireworks show, Momentous, will be debuting for the first time. The show features 6 chapters and around 150 Disney characters through various stages of life. The theme of the show is to remind guests to treasure life and those they share it with. For the first time, the Castle of Magical Dreams uses large scale projection mapping technology to bring the story to life.

©Disney

The show will travel through the stages of birth, childhood, young adult, falling in love, overcoming life’s challenges, a moment to look at wise guides along the way, and finally a celebration of all the moments of life that make the characters who they are. Just a few of the characters featured will be from beloved movies such as Dumbo, The Lion King, Peter Pan, Frozen, and Zootopia. Watch the breathtaking behind-the-scenes video below!

The musical score for this new show will feature new arrangements of well-known Disney tunes, as well as an original song created just for Momentous, “Love The Memory.” The show combines projection technology with lighting and laser effects, fireworks, pyrotechnics, flames, and choreographed fountains to tell the heartwarming story.

©Disney

We cannot wait to see this show debut, and hope we’ll be able to watch it online! In the meantime, we’ll be enjoying the return of The Tale of the Lion King and Fantasmic! at Disneyland Resort! The shows are officially back in Disneyland and we’re still waiting on a reopening date for Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Stay tuned to DFB and we’ll be sure to keep you updated on anything and everything we hear.

PHOTOS, VIDEO: ‘Tale of the Lion King’ Debuts at Disneyland

After sitting dark for over two years, the Fantasyland Theatre has finally opened once again with a revived show, “Tale of the Lion King.”

The show officially debuted today in the theatre which was home to “Mickey and the Magical Map” until the COVID-19 shutdown of 2020.

“Tale of the Lion King” is an imaginative adaptation of Disney’s “The Lion King.” The show was a hit with guests when it debuted in 2019 at Disney California Adventure park. “Tale of the Lion King” is brought to life by the Storytellers of the Pride Lands, a troupe of traveling performers who present Simba’s journey in a unique story-theater style with live music and dance.

This updated iteration has new choreography and a larger set with more moving pieces. There are also new lighting and projection effects. Being in a real theatre elevates the performance to a full show, instead of a street performance.

You can see the whole show in its new home on our YouTube channel, or by clicking the video below:
