Construction Walls Down, Revealing New Fencing Around Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal’s Islands of Adventure

Construction walls have been removed from the bridge between the rock climbing wall and hair braiding kiosk near Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The walls were erected last month.

With the construction walls down, guests can once again relax and watch some of Jurassic Park River Adventure from the bridge.

The fence posts and ropes have clearly been replaced.

They look freshly installed and sturdy.

The posts are dark brown, while the rope is light tan.

The bridge offers a view of the water ride’s big drop out of the building.

Jurassic Park River Adventure itself was refurbished early this year.

New Rechargeable Darth Sidious Legacy Lightsaber Hilt Available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The Darth Sidious legacy lightsaber hilt is now available at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney announced this hilt at Star Wars Celebration yesterday. This is the first legacy lightsaber hilt to be rechargeable.

Darth Sidious Legacy Lightsaber Hilt – $159.99

This hilt is mainly silver, with long oval depressions down the sides.

The sliding switch is within one of the depressions.

There is a bronze piece near the end.

There are green and red bumps on either side of the hilt, near the top.

The end cap is gold with a piece sticking out of the bottom.

The cap comes off, and this is where the port for charging connects.

The top of the hilt, where the blade is attached, has golden rings around it.

Guests must purchase a lightsaber blade separately. They are $25 for a 24″ blade or $50 each for a 31″ or 36″ blade.

The hilt comes in a black case.

The feather-like Sith Eternal logo is in silver on a red circle at the clasp of the case.

Disney also announced the Plo Koon and Qui-Gon Jinn legacy lightsaber hilts at Star Wars Celebration.

Will you be going to battle with the Darth Sidious legacy lightsaber hilt? Let us know in the comments.

Half of Alien Swirling Saucers Surrounded by Construction Walls at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Half of Alien Swirling Saucers in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is closed and surrounded by construction walls.

The blue walls almost completely block half of the ride from view.

They completely encircle it and almost reach the roof.

The other half of the ride is still operating as usual.

The corral at the end of the queue roped off and construction walls are past the doors.

Disney did not announce a refurbishment for the attraction so this may be an unplanned closure due to an issue with the ride.

Elsewhere in Toy Story Land, Roundup Rodeo BBQ is being constructed, the seating area of Woody’s Lunch Box is being expanded, and the Toy Story Midway Mania shop is being turned into Jessie’s Trading Post.

REVIEW: We Ate a Lightsaber in Disney World…and We Regret It

Disney World is jam-packed with new treats, and we don’t mind!

Magic Kingdom

We’ve seen special treats hit Disney World for the 50th Anniversary, Halfway to Halloween event, Mother’s Day, and now — summer! If you’re jumping into the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+, and you’re looking for a way to celebrate the force in Disney World — there’s a treat for that. And, of course, we wouldn’t be DFB if we didn’t try it!

Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs is home to unique pastries, champagne, and more! And we headed over to Amorette’s Patisserie today to try the new Blue Obi-Wan Lightsaber Éclair, which was $8. The Éclair comes with butterfly pea flower blue icing, rock candy, and a white chocolate lightsaber. We have to admit…the force isn’t strong with this one.

The Lightsaber Eclair

The Éclair was light and fluffy, as it should be. But the cream filling was just…okay. The traditional filling is much sweeter, and we prefer it over this cream filling. And for the $8 price tag, we were hoping for a bigger size. This thing is pretty small considering how much we spent on it.

Relatively Small

This treat was messy too, thanks to the melting chocolate, glitter, and blue frosting. We also hardly got any rock candy crystals, but that may have just been a fluke.

Overall, if you’re a Star Wars fan, or want a cute pic for your Instagram feed, then this is worth a try. If you’re not wanting to spend $8 on an okay treat, then you may want to try something else. We loved the Ube Banana Cake we tried at Amorette’s, so if you’re looking for a tasty and unique treat, this one might be for you!

The Inside

While this one was a miss for us, we’re still hoping that they release more Star Wars-themed treats in honor of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series! Don’t forget — you can get lightsaber churros again in Disney World for a limited-time! And we’ll continue to review the latest foods hitting the parks, so stay tuned to DFB!

Hera Syndulla and Chopper From ‘Star Wars Rebels’ to Appear in ‘Ahsoka’

Sabine Wren won’t be the only familiar character from “Star Wars Rebels” to appear in the live-action “Ahsoka” series. Disney has confirmed at Star Wars Celebration that Hera Syndulla and her droid C1-10P a.k.a. Chopper will also appear in “Ahsoka.”

They did not announce who portray Hera. She was voiced by Vanessa Marshall in the animated series.

The Twitter account for “The Mandalorian” shared photos of the real-life Chopper. They also confirmed that Natasha Liu Bordizzo will portray Sabine Wren.

The panel also teased the possible live-action appearance of Ezra Bridger, the main character of “Star Wars Rebels.” Ezra disappeared into hyperspace at the end of the series and Sabine set out with Ahsoka to find him.

7 Construction Updates You Need to Know Before Your Next Disney World Trip

Summer is going to be here before we know it!

EPCOT

If you’re heading to Disney World this summer, you might be wondering about all the changes that are taking place throughout the parks. Which attractions are open? Are there any hotels that are closed? Wonder no more, because we’re bringing you the biggest construction updates from the week!

Magic Kingdom

TRON: Lightcycle Run

We haven’t caught any additional vehicle testing over at TRON, but it looks like more and more equipment has been moved in to help make way for additional features. Hopefully this might speed up the process and we can experience this attraction sooner than later!

TRON construction

Of course, Disney hasn’t shared an opening date, but we’ll keep an eye out and let you know about any updates!

Check Out Everything You Need to Know About the TRON Ride!

Walt Disney World Railroad

Due to the construction on TRON, the beloved Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for over 3 years! We hadn’t seen many updates on the refurbishment taking place on the railroad, but this week we spotted some tracks being laid!

We have tracks!!!

We also saw more tracks being put down over near Fantasyland Station as well.

Railroad construction

An opening timeframe hasn’t been shared just yet, but it will most likely reopen around the time TRON does.

Center Street

There’s one less seating area available in Magic Kingdom, as the back of Center Street (behind Crystal Arts) has been blocked off.

Center Street is closed off!

We’re not totally sure what the deal here is, but we’ll update you if we learn more.

EPCOT

Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana

Things are slowly taking shape over at the Moana-inspired attraction coming to EPCOT’s World Nature neighborhood, and it looks like more rocks are being added daily.

Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana construction late May 2022

Disney is keeping quiet on when we might be able to experience this immersive, water-based attraction, so stay tuned for more updates!

Check Out NEW Concept Art for EPCOT’s ‘Moana’ Attraction

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Toy Story Mania Gift Shop

While guests are still being rerouted through a detour when exiting Toy Story Mania, we noticed that part of the queue decor had been painted over on our last visit!

We’ll keep an eye on this spot!

We could still see a little bit of the original design peeking through, so we’re not sure just what this big box is going to be transformed into!

Disney Resorts

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

From the outside looking…outside…progress is moving pretty slowly at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort’s new DVC Villas. The Big Pine Key building is being converted into 200 new DVC studio rooms.

Construction continues at the Grand Floridian

Hopefully things are moving along a little bit more quickly on the inside, as the villas are scheduled to be completed later this summer!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is also being renovated to include new DVC villas, restaurants, and even new recreation offerings! So far, several areas of the resort are walled off.

Poly Construction

For now, Disney has shared some concept art of the NEW Polynesian building.

Treasures of Xandar Shop Now Open at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has opened to the public at EPCOT and so has its gift shop, Treasures of Xandar.

We lined up with everyone else to visit the shop on opening day.

Treasures of Xandar was not open to guests during previews of the ride.

The Treasures of Xandar sign glows, with a purple stripe around the outside.

Inside, you’ll find all of the merchandise that we cataloged yesterday. The new merch is available at both Treasures of Xandar and Creations Shop.

A statue of young Groot is atop one of the merchandise displays.

Clear cylinders display some of the most interesting merch. These new infinity stone collectibles are part of the Nova Corps Data File collection.

There are also infinity gauntlets available.

The store has some of the same architecture and lighting seen in the queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

The backstory of Treasures of Xandar is that it is run by the Broker, a shop owner who appeared in “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

A hologram of the Broker appears in a large cylinder at the center of the store.

He observes guests and occasionally talks, inviting guests into his shop. Watch our video of the Broker hologram below.

Above the merchandise shelves are spacey landscapes. Behind the registers is a blue textured wall.

The store is also decorated with orange tiles covered in geometrical shapes.

Mobile checkout is also available.

Check out our full photo and video coverage of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and read our review here.
