REVIEW: You Can Get FREE Mini Burgers in Disney Springs This Weekend 🤤

Disney World knows a thing or two about burgers.

Southwestern Burger at Connections Eatery

In fact, we’ve got a whole list of burgers you can find throughout the parks and beyond. So, it makes sense that when Disney bought 20th Century Studios and The Bob’s Burgers Movie was announced, Disney World was the perfect place to host a celebration. We’re taking you with us to try an actual Bob’s Burger from the pop-up at Disney Springs!

Fans of the hit television show Bob’s Burgers were ecstatic when it was announced that a full-length feature film was in the works. And today, The Bobs Burgers Movie is being released in theaters across the country.

Come with us to the Bob’s Burgers Pop Up!

Over in Disney Springs, we popped on over to a special Bob’s Burgers Pop Up event happening outside AMC Theaters.

Bob’s Burgers Pop Up!

There were a few different tables set up with posters and swag, and you could even spin a wheel to win some prizes!

There were quite a few people here!

But, you know what we were really there for — we are Disney Food Blog after all. As part of the Bob’s Burgers Pop Up, AMC Theaters and Polite Pig were giving out free samples of a plant-based burger!

Time for the main event.

Let’s Get This Plant Patty Started is an Impossible plant-based burger, Bibb lettuce, Roma tomato, secret sauce, dairy-free cheese on a bun. We honestly wish there was a larger version of this burger we could actually pay for — it was that good.

Let’s Get This Plant Patty Started burger

The Impossible patty is a different texture than ground beef and was a bit on the dry side, but is perfectly seasoned so it could easily be mistaken for a regular burger.

Do they make this in a larger size?

The lettuce and tomato are a fresh addition that cut through the savory flavor of the patty. The secret sauce tasted like a spicy mayo, but there wasn’t too much heat.

The dairy-free cheese doesn’t have much of a flavor but does add that creaminess you would expect from cheese on a burger and the pickle on top adds a nice crunch!

Impossibly good.

If you’re a true meat eater, you might be pleasantly surprised by this little patty. Plant-based protein or burgers just not your thing? We’d skip out on this little guy. But then again, it is free!

You can get this burger for FREE from May 27th to May 29th.

Head over to the Bob’s Burgers Pop Up at AMC Theaters in Disney Springs between May 27th and 29th to check it out for yourself! For the latest Disney snack news, don’t forget to stay tuned to DFB.

Taking a Look Around EPCOT’s Newly Refurbished Guest Relations Location

EPCOT’s Guest Relations location reopened this week after a two-month period of refurbishment. The end result is a mix of modern touches with homages to the park’s past.

The intentional design begins even before guests step into the new lobby. The park’s braille map, seen during refurbishment mounted to one of the construction walls, is now promenently displayed on a permanent stand just to the right of the lobby’s door. The new Guest Relations sign follows the cohesive design of the rest of World Celebration, and features World Bold font.

The lobby itself is stunning. The park’s name (again, in World Bold font) is a focal piece behind a long counter. The lower height of the counter at the end of the expanse is accessible for guests using mobility devices.

The rounded counter that guests have used over the years remains, with the flower-inspired park logo displayed behind it (be sure to stop and read Marty Sklar’s take on this iconic park logo). Guests enter the space and are greeted by a Guest Relations cast member who will direct them toward an available cast member.

The lighting in the GR lobby? Gorgeous. As we’ve seen in Connections Eatery and Cafe, the lighting fixtures are statement pieces that harken back to the history of the park. Three of the new Guest Relations lighting fixtures have been installed thus far, with a fourth on the way.

The new lobby, right down to the geometric shapes found in the carpet, is a bright, clean, and intentionally-crafted space.

New Joffrey’s ‘Awesome Drink’ Inspired by Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Features a Mix Tape of Flavors at EPCOT

The new Joffrey’s Awesome Drink is available now for a limited time. We encountered this “galactic blend” at the Joffrey’s near Mission: SPACE at EPCOT.

Joffrey’s Awesome Drink – 16 oz/$6.49 (12 oz with Grey Goose Vodka – $13.99)

A galactic blend of frozen lemon ice with a splash of Minute Maid premium lemonade and desert pear syrup, topped with chewy green apple jelly stars

Joffrey’s describes their new beverage as “totally awesome.”

Cast members served the new mixture at the kiosk near Mission: SPACE.

We found the desert pear syrup to be slightly tart. It is as sweet as the Minute Maid lemonade.

The lemonade contained a large amount of ice. The mixture was not incredibly slushy.

In fact, we found that mixing the flavors was the way to go. The tart lemonade and sweet pear syrup tasted better together.

Lastly, we found the green apple gummies to be very tart.

The star “gummies” will not fit through a straw. We had to remove the lid to sample the gummies. Otherwise, scoop up the stars after finishing the Awesome Drink.

Overall, we found Joffrey’s Awesome Drink to be a fun experience. However, we’re unsure if we would try it again. Does this new Joffrey’s drink seem Awesome to you? Let us know in the comments.

We sampled our Awesome Drink in sight of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. You can read our review of the new attraction here.

PHOTOS: Parking Lot Trams Are Back at Another Disney World Park!

Today marks the launch of a new attraction, a 5-year anniversary, and a…shorter walk to your car?

Tree of Life

Today is a huge day — we’re celebrating the launch of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and the 5-year anniversary of Pandora — The World of Avatar! But that’s not all we’re celebrating, as parking lot trams have returned to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and our feet couldn’t be happier!

No one wants to face a long walk to their car after a day in the parks. That’s why we were relieved to see the parking lot trams return to Magic Kingdom last year! And today, they also returned to Animal Kingdom!

Parking Trams are BACK at Animal Kingdom!

These trams will take you too and from your car, relieving you from some of the walking that comes with a long Animal Kingdom day!

Trams are back!

So the next time you’re spending your day in Animal Kingdom, be sure to hop on a tram to get back to the parking lot! Trams have also returned to Magic Kingdom but we are still awaiting more information on the return of the EPCOT and Hollywood Studios trams, so stay tuned to DFB for all the details!

REVIEW: Guardians of the Galaxy Inspired an AWESOME Drink in EPCOT

It’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opening day!

It’s opening day!

We’re on the ground in EPCOT to bring you all of the Cosmic Rewind news, from the crowd levels, to information about the Lighting Lane situation, and even an updated look at the merchandise! But would we really be DFB if we didn’t mention the food, too? We spotted a new drink at Joffrey’s in World Discovery that is themed to the new rollercoaster!

Introducing: Joffrey’s Awesome Drink! This drink is “a galactic blend of frozen lemon ice with a splash of Minute Maid Premium Lemonade and desert pear syrup, topped with chewy green apple jelly stars.” This thing is SO cool looking. It’s a mix of green and purple/pink slush and the green jelly stars add a unique touch. But how does it TASTE?

It’s so COOL!

Right off the bat, the lemon flavor is very strong, so if you’re not a fan of lemon or lemonade, that’s an automatic negative. The desert pear flavors help to tone down the lemon flavors to make it less tart and tangy. We thought it kind of tasted like the iconic Violet Lemonade you can get during the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival!

It kind of tastes like Violet Lemonade!

The green apple stars are like chewier versions of boba pearls and are very similar in flavor to the boba in the Night Blossom drink over in Pandora at Animal Kingdom! People who are looking for a frozen drink or who are big fans of the Violet Lemonade will love this drink! While the gummy stars taste good, they’re pretty difficult to eat because they’re bigger than the straw we were given. This means that you’ll either have to wait until the drink is gone to eat them, or pick them out of slush.

The gummy stars are kind of hard to eat.

This is a slush, and Disney World is located in Florida, so it’s a given that it’s going to melt quickly. One thing to be aware of is that the syrup will separate from the rest of the slush and sink to the bottom as it starts to melt, so definitely try to drink it fast, if you can. If you’re not a fan of lemonade or artificial syrups, but still want something cold, we recommend trying something else, like the Apple Pie Gelato Shake from Connections Eatery.

This drink is $6.49 and available at the Joffrey’s in World Discovery. For $13.99 you can have Grey Goose Vodka added! We’ll be bringing you more news and updates from the opening day of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, so make sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest.

Disney’s Lightsaber Churros Are Back…But In a New Location!

Happy Obi-Wan Kenobi release day! The new Star Wars show premiered today with not one, but two new episodes with the third coming next Wednesday, June 1st!

ŠDisney

It’s also the second day of the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, and we’ve already seen so much news! We got an update on when we can expect Season 3 of The Mandalorian, we got more information about a new Star Wars show coming to Disney+ called Skeleton Crew, and perhaps most exciting of all, we found out that we’ll be getting FLUFFY EWOK EARS! Disney Springs is getting in on the Obi-Wan Kenobi excitement with two new treats that will be available for the duration of the show.

Today, Disney Springs shared on Instagram that two treats would be available for the duration of the show: a Lightsaber Eclair and Lightsaber Churros!

Amorette’s Patisserie has all sorts of baked goods, and for a limited time, a Lightsaber Eclair will be one of the items you can get! It looks like a typical eclair with blue icing and a blue lightsaber on top!

Also available for the duration of the show are Lightsaber Churros from any of the churro carts in Disney Springs!

Lightsaber Churros

We’ve seen these churros before for events like Star Wars Day, and while they look AWESOME, their flavor is nothing to write home about.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a six-episode limited series, with two of the episodes already available on Disney+! A new episode will air each week until the finale, meaning that these limited time Star Wars treats will only be available for four weeks, so make sure to head to Disney Springs to grab them while you still can! As always, make sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney food news!

Disney Acknowledges Motion Sickness Problem on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT, Riders Offered Vomit Bags at Exit

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is now open at EPCOT, and guests who experience motion experience from all the thrills can now receive a motion sickness bag.

While not on display for guests, like they are in their compartments on Mission: SPACE, Cast Members may offer guests who appear to be getting sick a bag as they exit the ride. Additional garbage cans with open lids have reportedly been installed along the exits to accommodate the issue.

Being the first roller coaster at EPCOT, as well as Disney’s first with a reverse launch and a train that rotates 360 degrees, guests have been experiencing motion sickness during previews. Traveling through the dark show building filled with stars may be disorienting for guests, contributing to the sickness factor. While previews were underway, our reporters spotted a number of guests resting on benches or in Connections Eatery to recover from the experience.

Have you experienced any motion sickness while riding this new attraction? Sound off in the comments!
