Strap in, because we’re celebrating 35 years of Star Tours at Disneyland! A new RX-24 (“Captain REX”) figure has landed in The Star Trader.
RX-24 Figure With Special Effects – $199
RX-24 comes in a box with the Star Tours 35th anniversary logo.
The figure has light and sound effects. He is a limited edition of 1,000.
More details are available on the back of the box. RX-24 has light-up eyes and authentic character phrases, enabled by an on/off switch. Disneyland Paris will be selling an exclusive French-speaking version as well.
RX-24 made his debut in the original Star Tours attraction, which ran from 1987 (when it replaced Adventure Thru Inner Space) through 2010. He referred to himself as Captain REX, and flew the Starspeeder 3000.
It then became Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, and C-3P0 replaced RX-24.
The regular Star Wars logo is on the top of the box.
The display cases in the store offer a better look at RX-24.
RX-24, now known as R-3X, can be found in Oga’s Cantina at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. After crash landing on Batuu, he was given a new look by Mubo of Droid Depot and programmed as a DJ.
See DJ R-3X in our tour of Oga’s Cantina below.

Tonyk just introduced a new line of Disney Princess candles, and yes, maybe we’re a little obsessed. There’s a Tiana Candle, which is a Water Lily-scented candle with “sweet mint, lime, and cucumber. Leads to a lush floral heart of blue-eyed grass, southern magnolia and jasmine, and a base of oakwood for a warm scent.”
Are you more a fan of a princess who can fight with a sword? Perhaps the Mulan Candle is what you need — this is a Magnolia Blossom-scented candle with “cool bergamot, dewy leaves, green tea, and light fruity tones. Leads to magnolia blossoms, neroli, jasmine tea, and honeysuckle. Complete with a base of hinoki woods and mountain musk.”
Does the ocean call you? The Moana Candlehas a scent that “opens with tropical fruity note of passionfruit, coconut & lime, cool sea salt & palm leaf. Leads to a pleasant tiare flower & coconut flower resting on a base of coconut milk, vanilla, and driftwood.“
So what does Princess Jasmine smell like? According to the Jasmine Candle, it’s Lotus Flower that “opens with soft peach skin, mandarin, and water lotus. Leads to an oriental floral heart of white jasmine, blue rose, and dahlia. Complete with a rich base of frankincense, night orchid, and woods.” Seriously, we love all the thought put into these scents!
The Cinderella Candle is Crystal Gardenia-scented and “opens with white apple, rose and bergamot. Leads to a full white floral gardenia, iris, jasmine, heliotrope, white lily, and mimosa. Drifts onto a powdery heart of cedarwood and musk.”
If you prefer books over people, you’ll probably love the Belle Candle, which is described as “Enchanted Rose,” appropriately enough! This candle’s scent “opens with sparkling citrus, champagne, pear, and bergamot tea. Leads to an intoxicating floral heart of rose and honey, ending on an amber base with cedarwood and vanilla.”
Finally, you can make the Ariel Candle part of your world! This one is “Coral Flower” and opens with splashes of mandarin, melon, and lychee. Finely blended with an aquatic floral heart and a base of sea moss, white amber, and hints of vanilla for a cleansing aroma.”
Disney has done some really cool collaborations with a lot of fun companies.
Mickey Balloon Loungefly Backpack
We’ve thrown money at many of these collaborations, too, including Loungefly (do we need another mini backpack –yes, yes, we do…), Vera Bradley (oh, those patterns!), Harveys, Coach, and more! But Disney’s newest collaboration might not be one you would think of because the company is now collaborating with…FaZe Clan!
FaZe Clan is a professional esports organization with players all around the world across many games. It is one of the premier esports organizations and managed to become one of the first esports teams to be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated and is even a public company listed on NASDAQ. Now, FaZe Clan is collaborating with Disney on a limited-edition merchandise collection.
The “Mickey on the Grid” collection will arrive on May 28th from 11AM-7PM and May 29th from 12-6PM at FaZe Clan’s Pop-Up Shop and Gaming Lounge at The Armory in Los Angeles (located on Fairfax and Melrose). For those who can’t make it to L.A., the full collection will be available online on the FaZe Clan website on May 30th at 12PM PST, which is also FaZe Clan’s 12th anniversary.
The collection, which is part of a year-long collaboration between Disney and FaZe Clan, will feature sweatshirts and hats designed by FaZe Clan lead designer James Caper Vine and Creative Director Jay “JVY” Richardson, in collaboration with the Disney creative team. Apparel will feature embroidery that glows in the dark, appliqué patches, and dual-toned baseball caps.
We’ll let you know about any other Disney collaborations, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
