If you’ve been hoping to get a Magic Key pass (a.k.a. Annual Pass) for Disneyland, you may be out of luck at the moment.
Back in October of 2021, the Dream Key (Disneyland’s most expensive Magic Key) sold out. In November of 2021, the next most expensive pass (the Believe Key) sold out. Now, things with the Magic Key program have CHANGED again.
When we visited the Disneyland website today, we saw that the Dream Key…
… and Believe Key are listed as “currently unavailable.” That’s not necessarily new given that both passes had previously sold out.
What does appear to be new, however, is that the Enchant Key is also now listed as “currently unavailable.”
The Imagine Key is typically available only for Southern California Residents living in zip codes 90000 to 93599. Online, this pass does not yet have the “currently unavailable” marker next to it yet.
However, we were able to chat with a Disneyland Cast Member who confirmed that ALL Magic Key passes, including the Imagine Key, are unavailable at this time.
So, ALL Magic Key passes are currently unavailable at Disneyland. It appears Disney has paused the sales for these Magic Key passes at the moment, not unlike how it has paused sales of nearly all Annual Passes at Walt Disney World back in November of 2021.
We will continue to keep an eye out for more details on this situation. For the moment, it appears guests will be unable to buy Magic Key passes at any level.
Guests who have an existing Magic Key pass, however, will be given the chance to renew. When we chatted with a Cast Member, they said “This summer, we will offer all current Magic Key holders who are in the renewal window the opportunity to renew into one of several passes available in the program. We will share details about renewals at a later date.”
Regular theme park tickets for Disneyland continue to be available for purchase, including some that are part of a special California Resident offer.
This pause in Annual Pass sales comes as the lawsuit against Disneyland regarding the Magic Key program and Park Passes was allowed to move forward on specific counts. We’ll continue to look for more updates on this situation and we’ll let you know what we find.
