After sitting dark for over two years, the Fantasyland Theatre has finally opened once again with a revived show, “Tale of the Lion King.”
The show officially debuted today in the theatre which was home to “Mickey and the Magical Map” until the COVID-19 shutdown of 2020.
“Tale of the Lion King” is an imaginative adaptation of Disney’s “The Lion King.” The show was a hit with guests when it debuted in 2019 at Disney California Adventure park. “Tale of the Lion King” is brought to life by the Storytellers of the Pride Lands, a troupe of traveling performers who present Simba’s journey in a unique story-theater style with live music and dance.
This updated iteration has new choreography and a larger set with more moving pieces. There are also new lighting and projection effects. Being in a real theatre elevates the performance to a full show, instead of a street performance.
