Two new summer treats are available at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: the Orange Bird Cake Pop and Brownie Crispy Cone.
Orange Bird Cake Pop – $7.99
Vanilla Cake Pop with Citrus Buttercream enrobed in White Chocolate decorated as Orange Bird
This cake pop comes in a plastic box with a green and white striped stick.
The cake pop resembles Orange Bird’s face, complete with eyes and beak.
We got hints of orange in the vanilla cake and a bite all together with the buttercream was tasty.
The eyes, mouth, and leaves are made of white chocolate, which pairs nicely with the cake but does add to the overall richness.
The cake was moist and creamy.
The decorations do melt quickly.
This would go great with a glass of champagne or milk.
Brownie Crispy Cone – $5.49
This snack is simple but cute. It’s a rice crispy treat shaped like a scoop of ice cream sitting on a sugar cone filled with a brownie and chocolate syrup.
The crispy treat has vanilla icing and sprinkles on top.
There were small hints of strawberry flavor in the icing.
The rice crispy is basic but sweet and chewy.
The sugar cone was chewy and a little stale.
It’s worth noting that the rice crispy scoop is not attached to the cone in any way, so be careful.
The brownie inside was moist and delicious.
There was chocolate syrup at the very bottom of the cone. It was an extra sweet element to an already very sweet treat that we don’t think was needed.
This would be great for kids.
