Halfway to Halloween may be wrapping up in Disney World, but there are still TONS of things to celebrate inside (and outside of) the parks in May!
There are specialty cakes and cookies, flowery ice creams, and — if you’re a Star Wars fan — May the 4th will be a BIG party in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. PLUS, with Cinco de Mayo just around the corner, there are 3 (!!) new drinks over at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas to check out and, of course, we stopped by to give them a try!
First up is the Piña Picante from Belle Vue Lounge! This drink features Herradura Resposado Tequila, Contreau Liquor, Habanero, Pineapple juice, and Lime juice and is garnished with pineapple and jalapeño, and had a Tajin rim.
Consider yourself warned, this drink is SPICY! But, that doesn’t mean that you should steer clear — we actually really enjoyed it! We thought that the sweetness from the pineapple complemented the spiciness well, but we did have to give it a good mix to get all the flavors in there.
So, if you want a traditional margarita with a fun kick, then this is one to check out! It’s available for $15.
Prefer not to head into the hotel? Well, over at Disney’s BoardWalk, BoardWalk Joe’s currently has the Fiesta de Mango drink! This has Lunazul Resposado Tequila, Habanero, Mango smoothie, Lime juice, and Seagram’s Club Soda and is garnished with pineapple, orange, pineapple, and jalapeños! This also had a Tajin rim.
And, if you thought that Piña Picante was for those who love a drink with a kick, then this one is REALLY for spice lovers! It packed a punch, but the sweetness from the mango and the tartness of the lime added a bit of balance.
It’s available for $14 at BoardWalk Joe’s, Belle Vue Lounge, AND Leaping Horse Libations Pool Bar — just ask if it’s not on the menu!

And, we grabbed the last Cinco de Mayo special is the Dia de Fuego Cocktail at the Leaping Horse Libations Pool Bar. This drink has Herradura Resposado Tequila, Grand Marnier Liqueur, Blood Orange Purée, Lime juice, Lime Sour mix, and Habanero and is garnished with a Tajin rim and jalapeño slices.
This one ended up being our favorite of the three and just look how GORGEOUS it is!
We thought that the blood orange and habanero mixed great, but it is important to note that this one had the MOST heat out of all the drinks we tried. We might even recommend ordering up another drink like the Frozen Strawberry Margarita to cool off your mouth between sips.
You can give it a try now for $15.

Overall, we’ve seen quite a few spicy margaritas roll through Disney World over the years (though they aren’t all that common) and these three are definitely some of our favorites! They’re a fun way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Disney World, and you don’t need a reservation at any of these spots to grab a drink. You can get them all month long at ANY of these locations (BoardWalk Joe’s, Belle Vue Lounge, and Leaping Horse Libations Pool Bar), so you can keep the celebrations going with some spicy cocktails no matter when you visit.
Of course, we’ll be on the lookout for other new eats and drinks in Disney World, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!
