Though many things have returned to “normal” in Disney World, there are still some lingering health and safety measures in place at Disney World. And, while you may expect to need to wear a face mask in some locations (like First Aid) or miss out on some entertainment offerings that still aren’t back — one issue that you might not expect to face is finding merchandise.

We’ve seen supply chain issues impact MagicBands, runDisney events, lightsabers in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and more. Plus, even some food items like noodles and chicken fingers have been harder to come by. But, it seems that the problems aren’t over yet — and, if you’re headed to Disney World this summer there’s one item that fans rely on in the heat of the summer that you may not be able to find.

If you’ve ever visited Disney World in the summer, you’ve probably passed by (or even purchased) the bright blue and yellow misting spray bottles that are sold all over the parks. These are basically water bottles in a spray bottle with fans on them that guests can use to stay cool when it gets hot at Disney World. We saw a ton of these on carts and at shops just last month (which is pretty normal for Disney World). But, they’re becoming harder to find now!

On our most recent visit to the parks, we noticed that we weren’t contemplating shelling out big bucks for these every time we passed a cart. Why? Well, because the carts didn’t have any! We checked Magic Kingdom — nothing. We checked Disney’s Hollywood Studios — no misting fans to be seen. Instead, every cart we passed was filled with some other toy in its place.

After lots of hunting, we stopped to chat with a Cast Member who shared that the misting fans are currently sold out park-wide and they are not sure when they will be available again.

That being said, we did end up finding an alternative to the traditional misting fan over in Pandora — The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. These are different from the ones you can find on all the merchandise carts and have less water capacity and shorter fan blades.

So, what if you find yourself needing to cool down in Disney World right now and you’re nowhere near Pandora? We did see plenty of cooling towels still available in Disney World too, so that can be a great last-minute alternative if you find yourself in desperate need.
