The Seuss Landing kids’ play area, “If I Ran the Zoo,” is temporarily closed at Islands of Adventure in Universal Orlando Resort. We caught a glimpse of work taking place.
A worker can be seen beneath the “McGrew’s Zoo!” sign.
Workers are seen carrying supplies beneath an archway.
The ground of the play area appears to be undergoing some intensive activity.
A crew is at work in the McGrew’s Zoo! area, while the water has been drained from the nearby river.
The soft rubber surface has been removed from the splash pad, which usually features a “river” with rubber stepping stones and interactive water elements.
It is unclear if the play area floor is being replaced or if the area is being changed.
The themed elements remain in the middle of the splash area.
The popular Seuss Landing play area is currently slated to reopen on May 28, 2022. We’ll keep you updated as construction at Universal’s Islands of Adventure continues.
