Have you been to Disney Springs recently? It’s delivered some surprises recently!
From an accidentally released piece of merchandise to eating flower petals (yes, really — but it’s not what you think!), Disney Springs has been an interesting place to be! Come along with us to learn more about eating flowers and exciting new merch!
Disney Springs Food Updates
Salt & Straw debuted their Flower Power Series of flavors that will be available throughout the month of May. There are five limited-edition unique flavors and you can order them for $6.95 for a single scoop or get a flight of four kid-sized scoops of ice cream for $14.75.
We tried every flavor (of course), and they’re all really unique! Jasmine Milk Tea & Chocolate Almond Stracciatella was one of our favorites with subtle jasmine and lots of dark chocolate bits. The Pistachio Rose Water with Strawberry Mochi was an odd pairing of rose water with pistachio flavor, and the Rhubarb Crumbles with Toasted Anise reminded us of pie. The Saffron & Honey with Crystalized Flower Petals literally had us eating flower petals, which we weren’t super sure about.
And Mathilde’s Hibiscus & Coconut Sherbet is a vegan coconut cream-infused sherbet with Hibiscus & Ginger Brew from Mathilde’s Kitchen. This one had a light, icy texture and a refreshing flavor.
You can try these flavors throughout May at the Disney Springs location of Salt & Straw. Happy springtime ice cream eating!

The monthly flavor for Gideon’s Bakehouse is Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl, which is made with peanut butter dough swirled with triple chocolate dough and topped with chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and house-made candied peanuts. Last year, this was the March cookie flavor, and we absolutely LOVED it.
And if cake is more your jam, the May cake flavor is the Peanut Butter & Jelly Cake, featuring three layers of vanilla cake as the “bread,” topped with peanut butter buttercream and filled with grape jelly! Visit Gideon’s in the month of May to snag one (or both) of these treats.

And as part of Disney’s Halfway to Halloween event, Gideon’s Bakehouse released a few treats for a VERY limited time — we’re talking only 4 days, from April 28th to May 1st. New treat options included the Pumpkin Spice Shadow Cake and the Valentina Cake, with the returning Frankenstein Cake too. The Pumpkin Spice Shadow Cake was a chocolate-dipped spice cake with a pumpkin buttercream filling, and it was VERY sweet.
And the new Valentina Cake was a classic red velvet cake covered in cookies ‘n’ cream marshmallow buttercream. It wasn’t as sweet as the spice cake, but it was delicious!
These special Halfway to Halloween treats are no longer available, but we’re kinda hoping we might see them again during the Halloween season!

Disney Springs Merchandise Updates
World of Disney
And in a big surprise move, the new MagicBand+ was accidentally released at World of Disney in Disney Springs! The MagicBand+ can do a lot more than a regular MagicBand, like interact with certain areas of Disney Parks, sync with fireworks shows, and more. It cost us $29.99.
The MagicBand+ is also rechargeable, and it comes with a USB cord. It was only available early one morning at World of Disney and they have not yet been officially released anywhere else since then. We don’t yet know when they will be released everywhere but it should be sometime in 2022.
Check out photos and videos of the accidentally released MagicBand+ here!
